Your premise is not at all a good assumption. When you look at religions historically, it's pretty obvious that they are human inventions. Given the great variety of beliefs in gods, it's quite arguable that gods too are human inventions.

For that matter, even taking your assumption as true, one runs into some logical inconsistencies. Buddhists, for instance, would likely take offense at your question, as they do not believe in a creator god. Deists believe in a creator god, but one that stepped back after creating the universe, having nothing more to do with human affairs. Hindus, American Indians, and several other religions believe in several gods, so again, the notion of one god creating religions does not make much sense.

Well, God didn't; your premise is entirely wrong. Satan is the sole author of "religion", all world religion. God will have utterly nothing to do with it, in fact, God calls "religion" a detestable thing, the "Harlot of Fornications", and His True Believers are not to defile themselves with her, not even with "Christian religion". Satan is Lucifer, the "Light Bearer," or "Light Bringer," and all the religions of the world can be unified under one element, being "the light", i.e. the "False Light of Darkness". Additionally, Christ Jesus, the Son of God, did not come to establish a "religion" not even a "Christian religion", but rather, He came "to set the captives free," and to establish His Church, not "religion", being a Church that is NOT a physical building of stone, not a behemoth infrastructural organization, and not a segregated Christian City, but "a People", being the Bride of Christ, a "Wall-less Temple" that will be Supernaturally indwelt with His very Presence, a yet future event, the Mass Transfiguration. Thusly so, the "Church of God" has not yet been established; Christ is going to execute this at the end of our current Earth Age. Additionally, the current state of World Christendom is actually a False Christianity, an abomination onto the God of the Bible, for Christ Jesus is no longer considered the "First Love" by proponents of Modern Corrupt Christianity.

Religion may have been created by man first as a way to teach morals and values... as time has gone on this original reason has been somewhat lost in translation and I am no longer sure what religion is really about. Do I believe God created religion? In a word, no.

I can't answer your question the way you want it because I think that religions were created here on earth without any intervention from God. Man created religion to supress the freedom of human beings. With religions, religious and political leaders alike could control their people more through fear of the unknown. Wise men like Jesus, Buddha and Lao Tzu might have existed one day but they were just ordinary people that maybe had special abilities to understand the world more. This does not mean, by any way, that the stories written about them in any of the religious books are true.

Philosophically, God didn't create religions. Religion is man's attempt to get to God, but because of imperfection, we can never have life the way it was meant to be apart from God's own intervention. His intervention was not religion; it was his only son, Jesus called the Christ, the Messiah, Yeshua. Philosophically speaking, of course.

It's a false assumption. Humans created religions just like humans created God/s.

False assumption. Man created religions. God only claimed to have started one. And non Judeo-Christian gods never claimed to start any religion that I am aware of.

God didn't create religions. Look up religions online. It gives the history and the person who came up with whichever religion you research. Have fun.

I don't think God created all the religions. It is the humans who created it. Because we are all God's children and he would never discriminate among his own children.

religion is a man made thing, thats why there are so many gods and religions, and notice how each religion has rules that support each different lifestyles, and still make it possible to get to heaven, i don't get why all the others do not get this, it is not rocket science...... all you have to do is think about it, which is what religions do not want u to do....
