My friend and I were discussing the arguments for and against God. He argues that at since any type of evidence is always subject to doubt or varying interpretation that it is the same faith scientists have in a theory until it is proven the religious have in God.

He pointed out that since I have not seen my brain but yet have faith that it is there so likewise is religious faith. For even if I know other people have brains, there is no direct link between their brain and mine. Therefore is a possibility that I don't have a brain.

I failed wih various arguments to disprove this thesis of his. He, therefore, argues that most atheists or people who claim that believing in God is requires too much faith or a leap in the dark that the same can be said at the existence of otherwise of my brain. He uses this argument to show that many things require faith where physical evidence is lacking and therefore uses to to justify rationally his belief in God.

Why not try a little humor, wit, and fairness, not to mention common human decency?

Larry Summers a very bright guy ( great academic and former treasury secretary) has been forced out of Harvard, because he dared say something we all know- namley that women are not as smart as men are-. This was not a sexiest remark, but a scientifc one based on biological evidence.
Can any one mention the name of a woman that rivals thet sheer brightness of say, phisycist Albert Einstein? or the sheer mind power of Greek philosopher Aristotle? or the financial ability of famous investor Warren Buffet? or the mangement ability of former GE CEO Jack Welch? or the political ability of George Bush? I could go on and on, but I think people get my point.....I dont mean to suggest that women belong to the kictchen, beacouse even there men are better...Havent you noticed that the greatest chefs are male?
BUT women do bring aboslute beauty to this world and with just one look they dominate us. However a great injustice has been commited against Harvard president Larry Summers.

Well you know how almost everything that people in the bible have done there seems to be a scientific explenation for, so i thought that god made it this way to constantly test our faith or that the scientific explenations are the real reasons,so which one do you think is the right anwser and why

I agree that women should be able to vote, but restrictions should be placed for women aspiring to take public office. Just look at condi rice and Hillary clinton....they make me want to cry. Wome have no natural undesrtatnding of managing power and have an utopic view of the world. seriously....they are just trouble when it comes to politics. However, I must admit that in business they have doen a little better.

altruism defined: the view that the well-being of others should have as much importance for us as the well-being of ourselves. Some argue that altruism, even if it is desirable, is not possible, and that our ethics must be based on egoism.

I believe god is very powerful, but not as powerful as most people think, and as described in the bible.

I don't believe god can control everything. As we know, tiny dust can cause many problems, even big ones. Can god control every dust so that it won't hurt the creatures he created and love ? ( I don't think god gave dust free will too. )

If god cannot control everything and stop something from creating trouble, how does he manage the universe (our world, all his creatures....) so well.

I think god has his own philosophy to do it. And I think, If one day we understand that, we would know what our purpose of life is.

What do you think?

This would include the idea of being independent and emotionally and psychologically self sufficient.
Do you think others try to bind us to them sometimes, even using a cage as beautiful as friendship?
How do you attain freedom for yourself?
