Sex and intelligence research investigates differences in the distributions of cognitive skills between men and women. This research employs experimental tests of cognitive ability, which take a variety of forms, including written tests like the SAT. Research focuses on differences in individual skills as well as overall differences in general cognitive ability, which is often called g. IQ tests, which are specially designed to measure cognitive ability, usually test a variety of skills.
The population of men and women differ on average in how well they perform on some of these skill tests, but do equally well on other tests. For example, women tend to score higher on certain tests of memory, whereas men tend to score higher on tests of spatial reasoning. While these results are relatively uncontroversial, the question of whether men and women differ on average in g is a matter of debate among experts. Most studies unambiguously find that men as a population are more varied than women in g (i.e. there are more men than women at the extremes of ability).
However, determining whether men and women differ on average has been more difficult. The primary reason for expecting that men will have higher average g than women is the male advantage in brain size. Resolving this question requires the use of sophisticated statistical techniques to extract g from the results of IQ tests. Some studies find an average male advantage in g, but most do not.
did they say it is scientifically proven that ??? MEN HAVE BIGGER BRAIN ?
but on the other hand i disagree cause most of time during my acedmic years i seen women proving to be no.1
the scientist Charles Darwin (in his Descent of Man) argued that women were by their nature inferior in respect to mental ability. Many of these early attempts were based on anecdotal data. However,

I honestly cannot think of the name of the woman right now, but I believe she married the South African surgeon who performed the first heart transplant... she has the highest recorded IQ on record... a woman. By the way, there is no such thing as that "proof" existing and the so-called "fact" you mentioned being supposedly "based on biological evidence" is total, unadulterated nonsense spewed out by a mere misogynist, a mental eunuch!
It's so easy to say that women are not as intelligent as men when for a good portion of history they've been kept out of academia or treated unfairly in academic circles and prevented from equal and fair participation by sexist men with their own sexual inadequacies and hang-ups... how can you EVEN begin to believe that a person (woman) is inferior when that person is not given a fair and equitable chance to compete?
According to Benjamin Disraeli, former British Prime Minister, stateman and writer, Mark Twain, the American humorist and great short story teller, said, "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, damned lies and statistics," Take your pick! Hey, you're really mistaken, mister.
Hey, do some research on Condoleeza Rice. She's far more intelligent than Bush and his henchmen at the White House! For that matter, so is Hillary Clinton! Ever hear of Indira Gandhi? How about Golda Meir? What about Corazon Aquino? Good thing Bush never debated Margaret Thatcher! All of these women could have run circles around Prez Bush, he's a man and he's not exactly what anyone would call a mental giant!
It's not that I'm trying to be "Politically Correct," my friend. I've come across a few women in high position that have caused me to think that they must've "slept" their way to those postions... but I've also met some women that are very brilliant, very intelligent and worthy of admiration. All things being equal and fair (equal education, equal opportunities, etc), I'd say that that statement won't hold much water anywhere. Don't forget, that women work at jobs and go home to cook, clean and wash dishes while most of us go home to sit in front of the TV and expect our tired women to also wait on us... hey... c'mon... let's be fair!

you mention the mind of Aristotle. If there was a woman with a mind that great back then we wouldn't know, because they wern't allowed the public privleges of education we are now. Are you a Woman? do you know we are inferior? Society still has gender roles, including a double standard for women, and I think it's wrong of you to judge the intelectual capability of an entire demograph of people based on your lack of evidence or understanding. It dosn't sound like you're even considering society's take on women here, and how they're brought up. there is so much here you're not getting, take it from a girl. It's an interesting argument, but drop it.

Women have been considered second class citizens for a very long time. We have only recently achieved almost equal status. Look at the proportions of women to men in medical schools and all graduate programs. We are catching up. But, the old saying about the hand that rocks the cradle rules to world, is truer than you think.

To clarify, Larry Summers said that women on average display a lesser aptitude in the fields of math and science than men. He never stated or even suggested that women are intellectually inferior to men nor even that women are, on an individual basis, inferior to men in the fields of math and science. His perspective, which is irrefutably supported by statistical analysis, is far too nuanced for certain of his knee-jerk academic colleagues to grasp (and no, I don't mean only women) and was therefore widely dismissed as sexist, hence his being forced to resign.

There are many incredibly intelligent woman now and throughout history. I won't even bother to go back and name them because your statement is just so arrogant. One thing there is more of in our history and that is educated men. But that is changing and has been for many years. And to make a point of naming George Bush as one of your examples simply shows your arrogance and stupidity. If he is such a brilliant politician, why do so many of the American public feel like he cheated his way into the White House and why is his approval rating hovering around 32%?
Women do bring beauty to the world. So do men. But you, my friend are not beautiful.

That is NOT what Larry Summers said.
He said men have greater natural aptitude for math and science.
You have perverted his statement to further your own completely unscientific agenda. The use of a few key figures as examples is NOT a scientific procedure. It is purely rhetorical.
I hope you don't really believe what you've written. Either way, you're a moron.

wow... it's really sad that they let people like you into Harvard. So I hope that Larry Summers ends up a chef at mcdonalds, and that you join him soon. The only reason smart women have not been documented is because of jerks like you that hold them back, biological evidence??? Show me the scientific data on that one...

but also remember, back then woman were treated as property and with very little or no education. how would you expect them to become a woman with a great mind when they can't even do the things that men could do?
but hey, at least a woman can get a job easier by the size of her chest.
