The expression of rage and anger may be a symptom of a physical anomaly in the frontal lobe of the person's brain.
In such an instance, they are unable to make use of what you call, fairness and decency, as those traits exist in the frontal lobe which may not be accessible by those people under certain conditions, such as when reading arguments that those people disagree with on Yahoo! Answers.

I think it depends on the question. Some people only know how to be an *** when answering or asking a question. Those are the ones you have question if they have any original thoughts of their own. No matter what everyone on occasion answers a question from an emotional standpoint, then an intellectual standpoint. I wish there where more people like you on Yahoo answers, but I think you give human being to much credit.

Maybe it is not with rage and anger.. not always... there is a lot to be said for facial expressions and tones of voice.. I know that I have been accused of anger when in truth, have been sitting here using wit an humor, but because they cannot hear my voice, or see my expressions, it can be misinterpreted.. I try to be careful what I read.. But on the other hand, some folks just come here to look for a fight, or are just plain unhappy people. I try to ignore those folks.. haha... I don't listen to them... I just figure someone chit in their cornflakes and move on, because I know it wasn't me.

Lots of times it's directed, calculated, and malicious. Remember. This is a public forum. All kinds of things get in. Your point is well taken. However some have to be dealt with using firmness. Look up the word ' abject '. The world is far from free of them. Even in 2006. Thanks for the input, though. Apply where at all possible.

Very good point.
I know I have been guilty of being overly,... passionate in my answers. Mostly it's because people ask intentionally inflammatory questions.
I think people need to lay out their arguments better. A lot of angry answers are from people who don't offer much proof for their opinions.
But yes. Decency is good.

I agree, I had some jerk post a really mean answer earlier today. I'm not mean like that to people, I try to have a sense of humor but not very many people here do.

I have thought the same thing myself. I like to enjoy this venue for education and entertainment. I guess some people just use it to vent their angry thoughts and feelings. Sometimes it is scary that people are walking around and holding all of these grudges!

I only get angry with people who are blatant idiots. Otherwise, I'm pretty tactful. The only people who deserve to be treated like crap are those who ask for it. Believe me, there are plenty of people on yahoo answers who deserve to be put in their place. The difference between me getting angry, though, and others...Is that I actually take the time to prove my point, and do it well, at that.

I think it is for the same reason that people with normally impeccable manners give others the finger when driving-- when we can't see the faces of those to whom we are being cruel, it's much easier to be cruel.
