Philosophy - August 2006

Before I sleep tonight, I am asking 'Where is God?' . He seemed to be by my side for a long time, but so many bad things have happen in the world and to people around. I hear and I see. I don't think he is helping . The tsunami, Katrina, and more major natural disasters to come.

And war . That is the evil acts of man. I wish there were some way that people just open their eyes and see that we must work together- not against one another. We are all different, yet so alike in many ways. Why do we hate so much??

is there a specific philosophical set of tenets that someone must fuflill to fall under the classification of 'free thinker'? or is it merely a self-label people award their persons in an attempt to define themselves in some way or another? simply put, does anyone know the source of the term, what it entails, does it follow a specific philosophy or is it just a general label?

I got married two years back. My wife always inspires me to live separately. My parents & other members were coperative to her but now they dislike my wife due to her talkative nature & complaining attitude. She left me two times & stayed with her parents. I and my family members broght her our home after many requests. But again she leaft our home quaralling with my mom & younger brother. She tells me over phone that if I sepatelely live then she will come to live with me. In fact, my parents are very old due to their age. They need good behaviour. In this situation I can not live with her seperately. My wife's parents also dislike my parents & my brothers. Please advice me how to modify my wife.

I do not understand why some feel a need to explain life. I ask why can we not just exist without some other to help us along? I tend to lean towards the idea of humans being so power hungry yet vunerable at the same time. Any other ideas???

If a non-physical entity, such as the wind and a solid object, a tree, interact, wouldn't this go against
the criticism that the 'soul', being non-physical cannot interact with body?

A living person can experience death in the world, other people die all the time. We can see the work
of death, the misery it causes. Of course this is only death as experienced from the outside. What
would it be to know death from the Inside? I guess this is what i am asking; What is death like for
you, What can you know about death Itself?
