A living person can experience death in the world, other people die all the time. We can see the work
of death, the misery it causes. Of course this is only death as experienced from the outside. What
would it be to know death from the Inside? I guess this is what i am asking; What is death like for
you, What can you know about death Itself?

Although experience can and does lead to knowledge, experience is not actually necessary to gain knowledge.

What is death like? It is like the cessation of existence. Which is not actually possible to experience; after all, to experience something, you need to exist. When you're dead, "you" aren't around any more.

I suspect that it is akin to being put under for surgery, except you don't wake up.

Some knowledge is gained through experience but some comes instinctly.
But some have stories on how death is and what is on the other side because they had died but was revived again. they came back with imsges and feelings they experienced while in between the living world and spiritual world.
They say people die peacefully in their sleep because they are already at rest when they go and they don't have any type of anguish on their face.
Death to me is just another journey for the soul. Some say their is was happiness at the end of the tunnel for them. Some say otherwise.
Life I guess is just a test. Just the beginning.
It really depends on your religion though.
Just live life right and your next journey would be set.

Some people believe they can communicate with the dead. I can't promise that's true but I believe it happened to me in a dream. A dear friend had died about 4 months previous and I dreamed he and I were in my office having a conversation.
I asked him what it was like being dead. He said it was so very nice. That he could be anywhere he wished to be and was no longer physically ill. He told me he couldn't stay long and gave me a "mission" of sorts. He handed me a bag of small angel pins and asked that I pass them out. I actually own about 300 angels and I do give them as gifts when my heart says it's the right thing to do.
He also spoke to me when I was awake and he was atop a high shelf . I asked him why he was up there and he said because he can. In his physical life he was very large and had emphysema so it would have been impossible.
I didn't see him on the shelf , I just heard him.
So, this makes me no longer fear death. And if that's all it really meant to me, that's enough.
I'm not ruling out my grief and imagination, so for what it's worth,
I believe death is a release from this Hell we call Earth.

Interesting point.
Well, I personally believe that it is unlikely that we can have any knowledge of death while we are alive. Being a bit of an atheist, I suspect death would be the ultimate end for me.No afterlifen no heaven, no hell, no reincarnation. My remains will eventully become stardust.

Of course I could be wrong, there could be an afterlife or reincarnation, but I just don't know. And I do not believe in any of the other religions. There's so many out there and they all claim they're right.

It is true that knowledge is based on experience, but it doesn't mean at all that every thing must be experienced personally. For example : We know one gets burn if he puts his finger in fire, but does it necessay to check whether it is true or false? No, because we do know it is so. Likewise nobody needs to have "death" to get the knowledge of death. It is a cycle of humanbeing and scholars have already been teaching us about life after death.....So best way is to assume what might be happening after completion of our life. Nobody knows perfectly about death....we can just assume.

There are those who have left their bodies (died) with heartbeat halted, yet were revived later. They have their story to tell of what death felt like from the inside. There were people who were struck by lightning entered the hospital DOA (dead on arrival) but made a recovery. Maybe their stories can be helpful. Many people with such experiences have written books on what it was like from the inside. You could look for them under 'out of body experiences'.

death is just a second away from eternity. we dont know what its like because we havent died yet. the pain before death is misery, but death itself will be a blink of an eye. this is comng from a Christian and that eternity is being in Heaven with Jesus Christ

i guess u could ask someone who had a near death experience or someone who is dying ( a dieses or otherwise). and see wat they said. thats the closest u can get, unless u believe in talking beyond the grave. but ive alwayed wanted to experience and not die, but its an impossible which makes humans even more curious. i was once reading a book on the mind of killers and some of them killed people to see how death is like without dying. they would watch the victim in their last moments of life and see wat they did. its really sick but theyre like the rest of us just trying to understand. but i think death is kinda like sleeping and then the rapture comes and we go to heaven or hell. but i ask my self sometimes wat if we wake up. also once i heard a story on how if u die a horrible death u dont go go to heaven or hell right away becus God is deciding where u should go becus mabey u suffered enough in ur time of death to deserve to go to heaven. so u walk amoung earth a while with ur loved ones. but i truly dont know, ive never been through any of the situations. we'll just have to wait and find out.

Knowledge is not based solely on experience. Therefore what you stated here should not be taken too seriously. IMO, they are just opinions.
What is death? What can we know about death itself? -- Answer: It is forever a greatest mystery to all that is still living.

What about people that have "died" and have come back. They were technically dead according to the doctors.

You know, the "near death experience".

Do some research on NDE'S. You may find out some good info.
