I absolutely think it is worth it! And fyi, if you are crippled, you can still marry and have a family, etc. People who fight and subsequently die are dying to keep the freedoms that we do enjoy here in this country. I just met a guy from Afghanistan, (we work together) and our manager is gay. He said that in Afghanistan people are dragged into the marketplace and hung for being gay. Good luck living life to the fullest when you arent allowed to worship, speak, or live like you feel is right for you. People who die for their country are giving the ultimate sacrifice for everyone else who does live and to future generations who will live in this country.

No not dying for the things you stated in your question. The only reason you bring up for dieing is some sense of false fame, a way to make your life seem worthwhile, an escape from the reality that you are probably meaningless. Don't hide behind the mask of patriotism, don't die for your country. Die for your beliefs, do you believe fighting iraqis is bettering the world? When we are rid of everyone who opposes us will life be better? What do you believe? Answer that and you will know what your life is worth.

now that i'm out of my country, i wud stay hell YES!
the country is ur mother. how? the food u've been eating until the moment u wrote thise question was a part of this very earth in which u live. and when someone wud want to trash this place, u wud definitely wanna protect it so that its not trash but food that grows. that was very simplistic. so going in depth, think about the number of people u will protect by dying for ur country. BUT, this step shud be very intuitive and not take as a result of socal pressure or as a result of financial gains or vengeance against the other coutnry. if u do that, that will make u a machine and not a Countryman.

It depends, if you are in my station, that my country LEBANON is occupied i would die and i will teach my children to do the same i did when they grow up, because it is hard how it feels when u see ur land is occupied and a stupid jew Fu**** it. u would die and wish u can do more more more to get the occupiers out of ur country.

but in another case for example for the american soldiers that are dying in iraq lol , i would not think about it, because they are dying for bush and for his dreams and for his companies and for OIL. make a search about the bush and israel and ramsfield and others from the american goverment, companies in iraq and how much money they are getting from stealing the iraqian oil and from killing children and raping women and all of this **** just because their companies and their money, and the funny part that american citizens dont know anything and support their goverment thinking that bush really care to fight terror,or bin laden.

from 9/11 till now we feel as if we r watching a hollywood movie, this stupid binladen and his gang did this stupid thing, and after that the whole world changed as if it was a plan or something like that.

so, at the end it depends on the reason u r dying for not if it is ur country or not.

to kick out the invadors sure i will, but for bush and his gang sure i wont.

No. A country is just land with man made borders, so unless you really believe in the cause, dying while in service seems kind of shallow to me.
The only thing worth dying for is something you really believe in. Other people might call you a hero but that's only because they have to glorify the army or else no one would join, and because it is pretty brave to be willing to die for one's country, I know I wouldn't do it.

There are only two reasons why it could be justified -
1. It is your job - If you are a part of the defence services then it makes sense because you get paid to do that
2. If you fear that unless you do it some great harm will come to you or your dear ones. Like some invasion is happening or something like that

Otherwise this fake patriotism is nothing but jingoism and pure waste of life and time

There are causes worth dying for. The Second World War was the last great and real war that we fought. Many people gave up their lives to free the world from dictators and imperial regimes and brought freedom to millions. They are the real heroes. Though we may not remember them by name we can really appreciate what they did for us.

Are there still wars even after the millions of people have died trying to stop war? Yes. Is dying for your country worth it? No.

I don't think it is really worth to die for your country. I mean, I think everyone should live their life to the fullest and even though it is noble and honorable to die, it doesn't matter in the end. When you're dead, you'll never get to live again, so why die early?
