Although I am Buddhist, I know that Jesus told his people to "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness..." and in another place, he said, "The kingdom of heaven is inside you." Wow! What an amazing statement. If the kingdom is inside you, then so is the king. Right? God is not out there in some misty-dreamy place called heaven, kind of floating around. He is not on a fluffy cloud plucking a harp with his angels, wholly indifferent to tsunamis, earthquakes, and wars. He is in each and every one of us. That is were you will find him. An ancient Persian proverb says, "Seek truth in meditation, not in moldy books. Look in the sky for the moon, not in the sky". Meditation is the science of internal access. It will still your inner dialogue- all that noise inside you- the constant thoughts that never stop. It will replace the stress and worrisome thoughts with peace. You will become silent inside, and in your silence, you will hear the silent voice of your missing God. He has been inside you all along. Meditation is not widely known or practiced in the west. But it adds power to your prayer life. One must learn it, like anything else. The mysteries of the universe are only mysteries to a noisy mind. Silence is the veil of God. If you let cloudy water settle, it will become clear. If you let your cloudy mind settle, your path will become clear. I could answer your questions easily, but you would not believe me. Instead, I suggest you learn to access your inner self. It is peaceful in there. You will find your God who has been lovingly waiting for you, and will answer your questions Himself. Peace.

He is still up there waiting to see what we do or how we intent to turn this world into a better place. We can change the world to a better place if we all want to. There are only the leaders and the governments who start wars. For all the people in the world only peace and happiness and good action is enough.
God has been doing a lot for human. Look at this world and all the good things he has left us. It's now our turn to show him our liability and wisdom.

God is most especially present in the hard times. He is harder for us to see but gives us the strength to go on when we think we can't. I tell myself that God is busy giving comfort and life to the survivors of these tragedies and I shouldn't be so selfish to think He should baby me through my fears and doubts when others are suffering so badly.
War is a terrible thing but that is one thing we cannot blame on God. God has not ordered a war since Old Testament times (unless you still believe He requested the Crusades). Wars are caused by humans with all our faults. If we could give up greed and envy and revenge, we might be able to avoid most wars. I think if the people who start the wars had to live in the battleground conditions, they would be slower to attack. We would all have to become good at once to avoid all wars though.

Because people are naturally good and bad. There's not a person on this earth that's completely good or completely bad. But most people chooses to ignore the fact that they have a heart and they can use it. Its just alot easier for people to hate than it is for them to love. When you love your putting your self on the line. Your feelings and mental health are both effected when you get hurt and sometimes people have been hurt so much that they don't want to love anymore so they start hating everyone around them. Others never take that risk. Not to mention there is some sick and twisted people out there that don't care who they hurt as long as they get what they want. That includes sex, money, and things like rings, TVs and stuff. They only care about there selves. There are also people out there that was raised in that environment and that's all they know how to do. There's alot of factor that contribute to hate. It would take me years to list them all. But you just have to keep your head up and know that there is those few people that are good and want to love and help and those are the people who are going to change the world and keep love alive.

Is this supposed to be juvenile or are you actually serious?
Why is it God's responsibility to prevent war, first of all. Men engage in acts of violence, and God has given men authority in the world.
To seek God is not to ask ridiculous questions that have the appearance of wisdom but to aggressively pursue righteousness in your own life despite what unfolds in the world arround you.
As far as natural disasters, when did God promise that he would specially direct the course of nature in its natural outworking according to regular and non-exceptional manifestations such that cities built right on the coast in low lying areas wouldn't be affected by the violent storms that frequently come ashore in those areas.
Hurricaned and Tsunamis have been striking the coasts of various places for thousands of years.
Just because somebody built a city in its path doesn't make God bad.
If I build my house on a sand bar in the middle of a river and then the sand bar erodes and my house collapses and everybody inside dies, I wouldn't say where is God. I would say, Godd*mn! What a f*cking retard!!!
Instead of blaming God for human irresponsibility, why don't you focus on your own immoral and irresponsible behaviors?

There's a God!?
Why didn't anyone inform me of this. . . ?
Seriously though, People will never change, we're all stubborn and stupid, no ones ever going to realize we need to work together, well actually yes they will but they won't...
This is a neverending question that has many twists and turns, too many opinions can't wait to see more! Let the arguing or discussions ensue...

love is within you. God is love.. start by loving and you'll realize that God is within you... God is everywhere... if there is love..then there is God.
There are so many things to consider that God is present in our daily lives. look at your surroundings, trees, mountains, birds, so beautiful.. He's so good that he made everything for us.
We should not take the negative things happening in our world just to doubt the existence of God. All those negative things that had happened are man-made. because man in nature is self-destructive. they have this tendency to hurt someone they love, even if they know that it is wrong.
It can be considered as a test given to us by God. A test to prove that we have a strong grip of faith on him. if we lose God, we are weak. it is in our problems and sufferings that we usually call the help of God. it is in there that we sometimes feel His prescence.
We feel God when we do good. We feel that His around when some things are in good terms. don't take negative situations take over you faith.
god is everywhere. god is love.
just love, and you'll see god. promise!

"God is in His heaven, and all is right with the world."
Perhaps God is still at your side. You are still here. If I were you, I would separate out what I can control and what I cannot control.
Focus on the things going on around you, the things you have control over. Stop worrying about disasters, and wars, and the "evil acts of man." There isn't much you can do about those, and if you get too wrapped up in those things, you risk becoming very self-righteous and holier than thou about life.
Love, Jack

i understand...for me, i have lots of things happening at home...i feel so frustrated and depressed all the time...especially if things are happening to me personally...
God is everywhere, particularly in our hearts, minds, and soul. you must remember that we sometimes get caught up in everything that we forget that he is there.
are you sure that he is not helping the victims of all the disasters? he helps by giving us hope, and love from other people. for e.g. countries immediately send help to indonesia in the form of rations and medical aid. what kind of help are you expecting God to give?
people have different definitions of what is right. that is why there is war. people only see what they want to see. as a third party, we are given the privelege to just sit back and watch, thats why we must recognise how fortunate we all are.
it takes a lot out of a person to hate another. maybe its because they do not want to let go of their beliefs that they continue hating.
just remember that God is working through us. and if we make a little effort, people might also see the Him in us.

God is everywhere. We can't blame him for natural diasters and war. War is because of the acts of people who have the free will to choose. God is all things good in the world and Satan is the bad. God is comforting people whether you see it or not.
