Title- Lies About Love

We are a liars, because

the truth of yesterday becomes a lie tomorrow,

whereas letters are fixed,

and we live by the letter of truth.

The love I feel for my friend, this year,

is different from the love I felt last year.

If it were not so, it would be a lie.

Yet we reiterate love! love! love!

as if it were a coin with a fixed value

instead of a flower that dies, and opens a different bud.

Thank for you for helping me with this poem. Any thoughts are apprieciated.

In Logfellow's poem "The Challenge of Thor" he writes, as Thor, "Thou art a God too,
O Galilean!
And thus singled-handed
Unto the combat,
Gauntlet or Gospel,
Here I defy thee! "

In this Thor is challenging Jesus to a fight, so my question is, Who would win in a fight, Jesus or Thor?

Really what does the word mean, mean? Don't tell me I've already answered my own question. Lao Tzu may say that, but I doubt Socrates would. So really, and think hard, what is the meaning of meaning?

How do we know for sure that we are all experiencing the present at the same time?
Even if we are seeing the other person, how do we know for sure that we are not seeing a past action of that person... maybe the rest of you are already experiencing events days, months or even years ahead from me, yet I can still see and interact with your "past you". Or viceversa.
How do we know that we all actually exist at the same time? Maybe time flows slower to me than to you. Einstein did prove that time is relative, after all.
Any thoughts?

When browsing page after page here at yahoo answers, you feel like you become this very smart person who has answers to almost everything! But then some question comes up and you like ah I know, and you start typing and then stuff gets soggy cause you think through your answer and kind of smack down to earth realise what a stupid answer it really is!?

tend to do the least?

Why is it that when the subject of a social issue is brought up in a group ,such as homelessness, there is usually someone who blindly says that we should stop talking about it and start doing something about it? Why do I always feel they're just saying that to relieve their conscious?? Or in a vain effort to portray themselves as more empathetic?

DON'T make any assumptions as I am NOT giving my opinion.

In many states, until recently, it was considered a misdemeanor. There were laws against vagrancy which many homeless 'tend' to do..I believe some states still have them.. or something similar.

Do homeless bring property value down? How would a home owner feel about that?

Do they affect the image of the cities they 'live' in? Would it deter people from visiting that city and possibly spending money there?

A bug is a very small thing. Let's take for instance an ant if an ant were to look up at us we might appear as a mountain to him. If it were to rain a puddle might appear as a vast ocean. So my question We view our vast oceans and our mountains which are very large. But is there something bigger looking at us saying what I am saying about bugs? Catch my drift?

So in god's example we are suppost to keep the Sabbath day holy and rest on the seventh day. My question is if this were as important as it states why wouldn't god put more emphasis on it for example. Last Sunday I was watching a honeybee pollinating flowers and I thought any other species other than humans don't take a day to rest. They work everyday. Just as hard as the last. So if resting on the seventh day were so important why wouldn't god give us subtle reminders like no honeybees pollinating. Etc.

I've always been fascinated by this, but I guess I don't fully understand, and I thought maybe you people would have to interesting views on these questions. I mean, what exactly is a soul? Does it live on after you die? What makes your unigue from others? I just think it's so mind boggling, and I'd love to see what you all think about it.
