The sorrow creeps across my heart,
As I read poems of doom.
Oh God please help these hurtful souls,
And rid them of their gloom.

I read and read,
And cry and cry.
The sorrow just won’t leave,
As I see the children of the world,
Get hurt and pain and bleed.

I try and try to cheer their souls,
But all to no avail.
For no one ever listens to,
A girl that seems to fail.

What do you think of this poem?

--untitled, about apathy--

To write, to sing to laugh, to cry,
Expect emotion, expect compassion and care,
But to myself such an existence is simply not there.
Delusioned and pretending
I can never completely mask this indifference,
And just find that apathy constantly persists this,
This mind, this life, this everything is void of all that matters,
But what is to matter? Can you want what you can’t miss?
Can you anticipate something that isn’t there?
Why answer when I don’t even care.
I’d like to think I truly am what some thoughts behold me of,
But for now I suppose,
I shall never truly rise above.

Honest opinions please. =)

You saw that my hell came to life,
You let it live in me.
The only thing you havn't done,
Is live what you created.

Each day your eyes look past my face,
Each day my scar expands.
But you can't see my living hell,
Before you have seen me.

You've prooved you can destroy my life,
Now since i can't have you.
I'll make my body haunt your life,
Even if that body's dead.

You can ignore such blatant love,
What else are you blind to?
Can you ignore my head if it hangs,
On a rope tied to a tree.

I've always wondered. I'm a pretty talented artist, yet I never took any art classes. Where does it come from?
Is it from drawing loads when I was a kid?
Is it something inherent?

I'm not talking about getting married, falling in love, maintaining good health, etc. Here are some examples I've come up with. Now I want to know what you think:
1. Climb Mount Everest in the Himalaya Mountains.
2. Travel to all of the Natural Wonders of the World.
3. Run 5 marathons and participate in 1 triathlon.
4. Lean how to whitewater raft in increasing order of difficulty—from Class I – Class V.
5. Find a cure for something.

Standing there,
Side by side,
With my friend,
Who is the tide.

When she comes in,
And tickles my toes,
I look down at her,
With a smile that lows.

As we look up,
And see the birds glide,
My friend gets noisy,
As they fly over my side.

Just as the sun sets,
And the cool breeze blows,
I say goodbye,
Just as she goes.

For I am a tree,
And she is the sea,
And all I am doing,
Is standing there.

I've always been wondering about that. In the day time you can see it too if you just stare in one place... and when you close your eyed there are all the colors too...

Oblivion

Is oblivion darkness?
Is it dank and wet, the scent of fear leaking off the walls?
Or is it something far more sinister,
A never ending night,
With nothing to cast the shadows away?

Oblivion.
It is a powerful word,
Ringing with fear,
Dripping with hopelessness.

Oblivion.
Is it relief?
Does it ease our sorrows to a grave,
Silencing our demons?

Oblivion.
Is it peaceful?
Wrought with fear?
Or simply nothing?

Oblivion.
Do we see it?
Or does it hide,
Dancing away into dreams?

Oblivion.
Do we crave it?
As our lives end, with no time for choice,
Do we need it,
To finally rest forever?

I wrote this last year for a Poetry Slam at my school, and thought I'd get some reviews on it! What do you think?

Lights go out
it's time to start
I look at you,
a work of art.

Perfect smile
flawless skin,
translucent strings
to move your chin.

Do you dance,
sing your song.
The crowd is there,
to cheer you on.

Now move a little,
more towards me.
You say your lines,
so perfectly.

One more trick,
the crowd applauds.
Turn to them,
and give a nod.

Curtains fall
I take a swallow,
You're still cold,
and fake, and hollow.

You're nothing more
than a wooden doll.
No feelings, sense,
or love at all.

The best puppet I've ever seen.
I only wish I could cut your strings.

He searched for a victim of his vermin,
He swam across the seas.
And there he'd rest,
until death let,
The victim of him free.

The men who fought this monster,
Will fight but shan't succeeed.
For the creature from hell,
Will find them as well,
And they themselves shall bleed.

But you shan't know this evil beast,
Till he is inside you.
And there he'll grow,
And then you'll know,
My tragedy is true.

For this poem and for many lives,
This is the final stanza.
The monster came,
Revealed his name,
The monster's name was cancer.

This was written in the 70's about how words have changed meanings. Like "gay" doesn't mean "happy" any more. I only remember the first two lines barely.

Remember when "hippie" meant big in the hips? When "trip" was to travel in planes, trains, and ships?
