It is a costly Hobby all right for rich who want to spend money but unaffordable for others.

People have to have a sense of proportion when talking about fashion. It can be a lot of fun to dress in a variety of ways. I personally love fashion.
As an industry it is somewhat good, in that many people are employed which helps sustain many lives. Unfortunately, many people including children are being exploited in order to produce fashion today. That is not good for life.
Aside from the business aspect, fashion can be an art form. It's not rocket science, nor will it bring about an end to the war nor end world hunger.
