We have to write a report on how we interpret the formation of Israel between the years of 1945-1948. Our teacher didn't really say anything else about what we're supposed to write about but I looked it up and looked at a lot of different websites and I don't really get what it's saying. Can you please explain it to me?

There are a lot of civilizations I read about, while studying, that are "advanced" some so advanced that they still baffle us. Atlantis was one of these such cities, and though we have no proof they existed, we still have stories. Now, another would be ancient Rome, the Romans, also the Egyptians before them, were advanced, the reason we know this is, they built amazing structures WITHOUT the tools we have, in less or the same amount of time as we would WITH our tools.
Other civilizations are spoken of as being advanced, and Rome had most of the things we have, but without the “technology”. I heard all the time that we are advancing every day and getting better, I see this is some areas, but, I don’t buy that we all were primitive, in fact, the further back in history we look, the more advanced we get. I just wonder what happened to all that advancement, and how we lost it. Anything you have to say on the subject would be nice.
Thank you.

I saw (and contributed to) a post like this on another internet board, and it caught my imagination.

Here's a few of mine -

"Mr. Lincoln, I have decided to accept your offer of command of the Union Army." - Robert E. Lee

"I don’t give a sh** that the communists are getting stronger in the cities. Those reds’ll never overthrow us, so we don’t need any damn programs to undercut their appeal. Let the hobos starve." - Franklin Roosevelt to Harry Hopkins

"You’re hired." - baseball scout for the N.Y. Yankees to University of Havana pitcher Fidel Castro

"Better not mess with the CIA. They’ve got all those assassination teams overseas, and we wouldn’t want them to bring one of them home, now would we?" - John F. Kennedy to his brother Robert

"Houston, we’ve thought about it, and we’ve decided not to wait till the next mission. Instead of just doing the test flight, we’re going to take the lander all the way down to the lunar surface." - the crew of Apollo 10

There was that show-trial in Nuremberg after WW2 where some leading Nazis were tried, found guilty of war crimes and executed. I do not think anything similar happened in Japan. If not, why not? The atrocities comitted by the japanese were every bit as bad as those comitted by the Nazis, so why no japanese Nuremberg?
