what would be different if the empire was still around, chances are britain would still be a superpower and if it was still one what would of happened in the cold war if there was 3 superpowers, would would the world be like now.

also was it good that the empire was gave up because most of the places what were it the empire after it broke up many of the countries lost stability just look at india and pakistan and many of the countries in africa

All Empires crumble. Britain was smart in dismantling it before it imploded on its own. Instead of a dead super-power Great Britain is alive and well, not to mention preserved its unique identity and showed rather good ethics for an imperial superpower (with a few exceptions of course).

Great Britain had already exploited all of their colonies and was actually going broke. the cost to maintain a military presence and to administer all the colonies was becoming to great. that is the reason they "gave up" India and Pakistan
among other territories.

i think they still very much are a super power through their close military association with the U.S. we share many top level technologies with England and England only.

the stability of the countries let by Great Britian were never very stable before they took over (which is how they took over so easily), so it is only a continuation of the unsettledness of those regions.

Interesting question. I think the giving up of Empire by Britain was caused by loss of confidence in her innate superiority over those whom she ruled. Plus a realisation that Empire was not financially profitable. You imply the possibility that if England had directed her domestic priorities toward imperial rule instead of domestic pensions (Lloyd George 1906), then those provinces like Pakistan would today still have a benevolent English colonial government, instead of the absurd internal strife they currenttly suffer from.

That sounds good "The UK giving up, it's Empire"!
Is that how history is going to be written?
The UK did not 'give up' anything it was all taken back from them, it was never theirs in the first place!
As a simple example did they 'give up' America?
Will they just 'give up' the tiny bit of Ireland they stole? No it will be taken back from them.
India? The jewel in the crown, I could ramble on for ever.
Britain is a tiny little dot on the map, end of story.
'What if'? OK lets go along with that for a bit, it is after all a fair question, and all you are doing is asking for opinions, so for what it's worth here is mine!
Britain would be looked upon by the rest of the world as a dictator, and we all know what happens to dictators don't we?
