What were the differneces in the ways spain and portugal governed their colonies in LATIN AMERICA? please help.

For Portugal, Brazil was much more an integral part of their empire; at one point the empire's capital was move to Brazil (so Portugal was being ruled from Brazil!).

Spain divided its turf up into regional governors.
