I heard that Harry Truman had one of the lowest approval ratings for any president and I was wondering why he was so unpopular. Were people mad at him because he used atomic weapons on Japan... was that the reason??

or was it something else?

I'm not the kind of person who believes in goverment conspiracy, but I think that there is somthing to be said here. Is'nt strange that there are no real plane wreakage near the pentagon, and the building does'nt look like it got hit by a plane. If you compare to the planes aftermath when they hit the twin towers, or other buildings in the past there are concrete evidence that a plane crashed there. The black box that was found does not agree with the plane hitting the pentagon.
But then again there are several light posts down that the plane hit before it hit the pentagon.
A big plane flying that low, fast, and at a low attitude would had hit the ground first. Right??
I know the pentagon is a stronger building then others, but strong enought to withstand a boeing 757??
Before I heard any conspiracy in regards of the pentagon, it did'nt look right then and still does'nt. What do you think?????

A few days ago someone, apparently echoing the Chinese Communist Party line, said on this program, that the protesters who were shot on Tian-anmin Square, Beijing, in 1989, were just hippie rabble, stirred up by outside influence.
This sounds odd, as in '89 there were no hippies AND BECAUSE the "hippy philosophy" (such as it was) had been POLITICALLY VERY MUCH FAR LEFT !!!"
Che Guavera and even Mao were their idols!!! True, true, true.

King Juan Carlos, of Spain, when Fat-Face called Spain's P.M. "a fascist". No one in the world has better credentials to do this than King J-C : he it was, when he was first placed on the throne by Franco, faced by right-wing demands for the exclusion of communist reps in parliament, insisted that, as long a he was king, they would have equal rights of representation.

What was the rationale in Mao Tze Dong's decision to renounce such a right?

Was this decision due to the belief that Japan would pay off its reparations at a very slow rate and that it would be better to renounce the right to reparation and receive substantial loans instead?

Note that reparations are non-repayable, whereas loans constitute are paid back with interest.

other than normalizing Sino-Japanese relations, what did Mao have to gain?

can anyone show me a specific treaty that stipulates a specific value for reparations from Japan to China? not counting repatriation of Chinese assets stolen by the occupying Japanese.
