The Treaty of Utrecht in 1713 was actually a series of treaties between France and other European powers. It ended the War of the Spanish Succession. Its affect on North America was that France agreed to give up Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, the Hudson Bay territory, and the island of St. Kitts to Great Britain Also Great Britain received the exclusive right to supply the Spanish colonies with African slaves for the next 30 years.
