I have recently moved from Barnard Castle - many parts of the old army camp and POW camp are still in use as part of an industrial estate. It is true that part of the Stainton Grove housing development was built on it. however. This was not built for the army, but for council tenants. The army housing is actually in Barnard Castle town. I'm not sure what more you want to know.
