I was doing genenology connecting trees. I know they made some errors. Anyways, I think this part is another error but want to make sure. I know the person was a Captain in the civil war. That is true, I have a copy of the obituary that names him and his wife. bla/bla.
I'm looking up his info. The question is what is the chance of an immigrant being an officer in the civil war. ( I believe they got his country of birth switched with his wife)

I would like to name our baby, if a boy, after my husband's grandfather but we aren't sure if we should add a suffix to it. No one in the family has his full name except him so our baby would be the first. Do I need to add Jr. or II (the second) for our baby?

I know plenty of places to research convicts transported to Australia, but I recently came across an ancestor who was sentenced to transportation in 1771. Since this was a bit too early for Austarlian transportation, I assume that she was transported to either North America or the Caribbean (or were there other places that convicts were sent?)

What next? Are there any helpful websites that deal with this subject? Are there any places that list the convicts that were transported, or the names of any convict ships?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some friends and I were talking about characteristic traits of different origins, (ie, red hair/Irish, etc) and someone told me that I looked Macedonian. I was under the impression that Macedonians would be similar to Greeks- dark skin, hair, and eyes. But I have fair skin, blue eyes, and reddish-brown hair. Do I looked "Macedonian"?

My grandfather's name is James, my father's middle name is James and my middle name is Jane. If I have a boy, I plan to give him the middle name James, but I don't really like Jane so I'm wondering if there are any variations out there.

Thanks for your help! :)

I know there is a place called Vocha, Greece...but I'm not quite sure if the name is of Greek background.

I found something online saying it was Mexican, but I don't really trust it because it said the same thing to my friend about a different last name.

If anyone has any knowledge of the last name, please let me know.

[Oh, and please refrain from replying to this with useless remarks such as, "I don't know" or "Google it."]

Thanks!

A website where you don't have to download anythinng and its kinda.. free maybe? (it might help if it had a little cutzie tree in the backround.) Thanks in advance!!
