I have done quite a lot and managed to get some branches of my fathers materal family back to 1798.
The problem I have is that it seems that one women in the family (born 1852) seems to over three decades/census,lived with at least two men. I'm pretty sure it is the same woman because a lot of other details match including childrens names(which are quite unusual)
Was this common practice in the days before divorce.

My ancestors were not wealthy and seemed to mostly work in the mills around Derbyshire

All I know is that his name is John Taylor Jr. (googling that name is a real b*tch) He is approx. 49 yrs old. He went to the Calixto Garcia school of Medicine at the University of Havana, in Vedado Havana, Cuba, where he met my mom, and his birthday is either November 13 or 23 1958. I've tried every type of internet search, with no luck, and im becoming very sad that i will never find him. He might not even be in the US. He is originally from Jamaica. His name is so common. Please help if you can!!!! Thank You.

How do I find out my ancestry or my family's heritage without having to pay someone? I'm afraid a lot of those paying places are scams! Does anyone have any ideas?

He came from Denver Colorado and was in the army during world war two. He spent time in a small New South Wales town in Australia with the army building an airbase in 1942.

He was friends with my grandparents ( who have since passed on) and contact was lost in the early 1960's. I would love to make email contact with him or his family.
If anybody knows a man who fits the story please let me know.

Is there a way i can view this information before i buy it? There are an awful lot of margarets that married johns........ If i have to pay $25 each cert. then it really will be a costly exercise.. Any suggestions?

My e-mail research partner who had access to these things has gone missing. I am desperately looking for the father and brother of my great grand father. He wasnt close to is fam, but I have these two leads:

He has a brother, Charlie Dickson (born approx 1870) who has children Holsie, Vertie, and "Red". And his father may be named George Dickson (born approx 1850, blacksmith?) from TN. As of 1920, both were listed in the Houston Co., TN 1920 census.

Can someone PLEASE share the records for George Dickson, Erin (city), Houston County, Tennessee that list his children in his home, perhaps the 1880 or 1890 census? Walter B. and Charlie should be in there cause they're only a year or two apart.

I need a surname that is obviously English, but not so ridiculous sounding that it can't be used as someone's name. I'm writing a story set in the late 1800's in England, and the character in question is a jewler.
