Possibly a misspelling or other permutation of Verdi, Italian for Green. Opera Composer Giuseppe Verdi was "Joe Green"

Your best chance of finding out what your last name means is find out where you came from. Then find someone that understands that language and they can usually tell you what it means. My married name means garbage collector in German. Pretty funny huh?
