Specifically, the death informant had the maiden name of the mother wrong (and of course it is now on the death certificate), which happens far more often than we wish to know..... And, now after tireless research has produced this whole, huge, database for the wrong surname for the Grtgm... I know...it just almost stops one's breath, but how, now, to suggest correcting it?

I heard there was also a castle by the same name or close to it somewhere in Italy. Any history buffs out there care to shed some light and help with this random question?

I'm trying to trace the background of my grandfather, James Edward(?) Pope, married to Ella Alice Evans. Have had no luck finding anyone through searches of various genealogy sites and/or records listings, not even family members still living! We suspect my grandfather's name was changed at some point, but have no proof of that. I would very much appreciate anything that would give me a starting point, as my grandfather never mentioned his family at all, and I am unable to find a marriage record, or even a listing of his or her deaths.

I'm looking to get a small tattoo of my maiden name, but since it looks so plain in Korean, I'm hoping to find a translation into Hanja, the Chinese characters of Korean. My last name is Byun, or alternate spelling, Byeon. Please let me know where I can get a translation or if anyone knows it .. thanks in advance!

My dad Danny Chambers passed away about 21 years ago at that time he was stationed at ft Hood in Fort Worth TEXAS. She was just a baby I really want to meet my little sister I lived in north carolina at the time and remember her mother Susan being pregnant with her the last time I visited my dad in texas. If anyone can help me find her please let me know. i don't have a lot of money to hire someone so i'm trying this. Her mother was from Germany so I hope that they didn't go back.she should be between 21-24 years of age. I tried a few other searches that placed her in or near San Antonio , Texas. I'm not totally positive i spelled her name correctly because my grandmother gave it to me. i only have one picture of her with my father when she was a baby. please help me some one GOD BLESS

Does anyone know the meaning and/or origin of the name Euzela or Uzela (eu-zee-la)? I had a great-aunt born in the early 1900s named this and would like to name my new baby after her. I have seen it spelled both ways.

Beside doing a search and getting a lot of info about other people. Seems as if they were not recognize or anything to this day. Just curious, because most of us would be going to schoool or working with some of them, or maybe having a relationship to one of them. Weird huh.

Joseph Holdsworth b 1824 emigrated from London UK to Wellington NZ in the 1850s, with his wife Mary Battersby. She died soon after and he remarried a Elizabeth Mary Smith. Joseph died in 1884 and they are buried in Wellington

Their son Charles Holdsworth founded the NZ Union Steamship Company and was knighted. He had two children Godfrey born 1888 and Dorethea 1896.

And there I lose the thread of Holdsworths in New Zealand.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

I'm getting copies of different poeple. I have a question about the PA death certificate. Can anyone explain this part. I already tried calling the vital records but can't get through.

No fee maybe required for death records of active or inactive members of the armed forces or their dependents?
