My grandfather's name is James, my father's middle name is James and my middle name is Jane. If I have a boy, I plan to give him the middle name James, but I don't really like Jane so I'm wondering if there are any variations out there.

Thanks for your help! :)

PS: I like the name 'Sian' (Sharn) which is Welsh and has a similar meaning (God is gracious / God's gracious gift). Is Sian a form of Jane?

From what I have found out, Sian is a form of Jeanne which is a modern form of Jehanne which is a feminine form of Johannes (John). Jane is also a feminine form of Johannes (John), so I suppose Jane and Sian are connected.

You could go with Jaime or Jayme as a feminine form of James. They also are similar enough to Jane to keep the family tradition going.

Shauna, Joan, Juanita, Shana, Sheena, Shana, Shona, Shunta, Sinead, Zaneta, Zanna and Zhana.
the male form of course is John, of course from John you get names like Evan, Ian, Geno, Gian,Giovanni, Hans, Ivan, Sean and Zane. There were a few others, but they sounded way out there, such as Ugutz, Yanni, Yan and Yochanan.
