He was born before around 1890.

He was in Texas (Quanna?) before the depression & fathered 7 children with one woman & after her death, fathered 5 girls with Opal Cox.

He may have moved to California during the depression.

If he did, he may have been back in Texas by 1940's. There's record of a Betty Lue Winchester born to Eva Ethel Barnett & William Arthur Winchester in 1943.

Would love more info!

We've recently cleared out an attic and have found a box of wedding accoutrements from 1917 - some are obviously cake decorations, wax flowers, a veil; but there is one item we are a little puzzled by. It is a long swathe of delicate, embroidered, muslin-lined, silk cloth (too long to be worn as is) which is gathered at both ends. Could it have been a table or wall decoration, or would it have perhaps have been worn over a wedding dress, draped one end over each shoulder?

Any thoughts on relevant UK 1910's fashions?

An ancestor living in Portsmouth is called a pianter in two different census and as a colour an oil man in an other. His children were noted as a shoe maker, a painter, a sailor and a coach painter. Other children not noted in the census are agricultural labourers and domestic servants. Any idea's what sort of painter this ancestor could be? I am not sure that a coach painter would describe himself as a colour and oil man.

I am searching for any member of my biological family, and so far have had no luck. I received non-identifying info, and the agency contacted my birthmother but she said she did not want me contacting her. I was born in Pittsburgh Pa, in Allegheny County, at the Magee Hospital on 1-5-76. My birth mothers name is (was) Barbara Kramer, she was born in 1946. SHe was married to a man named Leo when she was 18, I think his last name was Kramer. They had four children, Leo jr, his birthday is 8-31 from 1964-1966, Brian, Donna, and Steven, born in 1970 I believe. My mother told the agency my father was a truck driver named Harold. Since my birthmother is not wanting to have contact from me, I am attempting to locate any of my siblings, or other family. If anyone knows any of these people or how I may contact them, please let me know...or if you have any suggestions that may help me in my search, I would greatly appreciate it.

My late father-in-law was born in Scotland and died in s/africa in 1959. I have tried getting his birth certificate but no luck. He served in the first world war, but don't know with which regiment as he died in 1959 and my mother-in-law didn't know too many details. However looking in the churchyard of his alleged birth place there are plenty of graves with his surname. Dont know his parents or siblings names so cant find it on the census either. Do you know if the army would be able to help and if so how do I contact them? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
