I did not find it in African names,

I only found something close:
APPHIA
Gender: Feminine

Usage: Biblical

Pronounced: AY-fee-a [key]

Greek form of a Hebrew name which possibly meant "increasing". This is a name mentioned in Paul's epistle to Philemon in the New Testament.
