my mother was in a coma for 2 mo's, as she was near death her MOM & I sang Scripture songs to her. She came out of the coma slightly for the 1st time & was worshiping what seemed to be God & was talking to family members that had gone before.

Understand the true meaning and purport of Heaven and all your queries would automatically dissolve.

Heaven (aka Swarga in Hinduism) is a place in the mighty Cosmos wherein the souls rest in peace until they get to manifest a body on Mother Earth. But there is one condition attached. Any soul can only go to Heaven provided there is a positive balance of karma in hand.

All souls with a negative balance of karma go to hell (aka Naraka in Hinduism).

For every soul (aka Atman in Hinduism) at any point of time there are three abodes available. Either manifest a body on Mother Earth provided matching womb is available (for any soul to manifest on Mother Earth the existence of matching parents is an essential must).

If the matching parents are not available on Mother Earth then it is imperative that the soul would have to rest either in Heaven or hell based on the balance of karma of the earlier manifestations.

And what is karma? Right from the first manifestation the closing balance of any life form is transferred to the next manifestation through the process of karma. It is only karma which keeps the system going. In absence of karma the complete existence of Cosmos would come to a halt.

Does this mean that the reincarnation and the rebirth theory are correct... yes, they are hundred percent correct. Every human being started his first journey as an amoeba (single cell formation), then evolved into insect life, animal life and finally gained the form of a human being.

In all these stages the system of Heaven and hell plays role only after one has manifested the form of a human being... the last in the chain of manifestations.

We need to remember here that it is not Heaven that one would want to go but it is the kingdom of God where Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed went. More on heaven here- http://www.godrealized.org/heaven/way_to_heaven.html

Such experiences are common in all cultures throughout history. They have been somewhat suppressed by organised western religion, as they show one can have contact with God without using priests as intermediary, which is of course a threat to the authority of the church. You may be interested in the Tibetan and Egyptian Book of the dead. Otherwise there is modern studies into near death experiences, some which may relate this to oxygen starvation in the brain.

I don't know for sure if I died and came back, but I like the whole concept of dying and coming back to live the same life again and working hard at doing it better each time you do come back. I know for sure my entire life this time around has been one case of deJavue time after time after time. Too often I approach a door to what I think is a new experience and upon crossing the threshold find myself knowing I have been here before because I see what is coming next. And this next happening turns out to happen extremely accurately...mostly dead on the money. WEIRD HUH?

It hasn't happened to me but I think it is beautiful. My fear of death was taken away when I read Betty J. Eadie's "Embraced by the Light." My sister had major surgery and she saw my deceased Grandmother there who was wiping her forehead. My 6 week old does that thing little babies do called "dancing or playing with the angels" where she smiles and laughs as her eyes dart around quickly. It is so sweet. Thank God for peace and a soon to come heavenly home, eh? Yes!

hmmm...

i died and was brought back to life. i can tell you with absolute certainty that during the time i was gone, there was nothing. absolutely nothing. one minute i was in one place, then instantly i was in another place. nothing in between. my heart had stopped and i had stopped breathing. absolutely NOTHING there, my friend.

the "light" and "love" that some people claim to experience is nothing more than a by-product of the brain shutting down... a good dose of heroin or morphine will produce exactly the same effect.

That's interesting. My grandfather had a heart attack about 15 years back, he died & they brought him back and he told my grandmother that he felt at peace and saw a "white light". That's the most I can say on the subject =]

I believe that your mother experianced something close to or like it. No one can ever be sure what they see. If she did see heaven and came back then its her story to tell but most likely prayers and asking god to bring her back helped bring her back.

my cousin had a near death exp, after having difficulties during the birth of her son, she was clinically dead for 10minutes, during that time she was floating above her body, and saw what was happening to her, she also saw her baby, and her husband, and after that she heard a voice say to her that she needs to go back to her family. she said that during 'death' she felt detatched and extremely peaceful, but when she saw her baby and husband, she knew she had to come back for them.
