I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan, for those of you arts people who don't know, they are an professional American football team in the NFL. We just hired a new head coach named Wade Phillips and I was doing some research on him and I found out his daughter is a burlesque dancers, Tracy Phillips. First what is burlesque? Is it 1920s stripping? And is she a well know dancer? I hope I don’t offend anybody thinking it is like stripping. I'm sorry I'm not in to arts. Thought I'm learning to like art by taking a film and motion picture class in college. I now enjoying film and learning of actors from the 30s 40s and 50s.

I live in Makati area and I watched "Dance With Me" at HBO. My friends told me that the dance Vanesa Williams and Chayenne did was salsa. I think it was fun. I wish to learn how to dance like that. Any info where I can learn salsa. I am quite tight in my budget. I heard there are free lessons in town, but I do not know where to go. Kindly advise me.

Mr Collins went the wrong way and bumped into a lady dancing in the circle the correct way. It seemed pretty embarrasing. I looked in the eyes of those standing by observing the dance and most were smirking.

I like the first song in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jodsgxh_-... I would like to find it on a CD. Does anyone know who's the artist or what album can it be found on?
Bryan Watson and Carmen did a showcase to this music several times in 2000-2004, so it is quite old but I really like it.

I take ballroom dance lessons and I am rather good at it. I have been dancing for about 3 years now and I really love it. I have long legs, a skinny frame, so I am made for it.

Anyway, recently I have started a group formation class. For those who don't know what that is, it is when a group of people do the same steps while wearing the same clothes (usually black, plain, makes everything look really cool).

Anyway, at my last lesson, my dancemates were sick or on vacation, so I was the only one there. Me and my instructer got pretty far, and at one point I needed to do this step where I stick my but out and rotates it in a circle.

I am honestly not comfortable with this step. I have a competition coming up for this formation group and so all the girls will be doing this step, but I am embarressed about it.

How can I not be embarressed? I felt so strange while my mom watched (she always does) and my instructor showed me how far to stick it out.

I've always wanted to learn- but never had an opportunity. Is this a discipline you have to learn as a child- or can an adult learn? Do you think any ballet teachers would be willing to work with a novice adult?
