my best friend asked me to go to a dance at her school a while beck, and i promissed i would. and then i found out that we have to sponser a dance for student council, and that ALL of my friends are going to our dance. i don't know very many people at my est friends school, but i made a promise. the dances are on the same night... what do i do?!?!?!?

Ask your friend to help you decide. Put it on the table for her and tell her what your concerns are. Tell her that you are feeling conflicted about your promise to her because she is your friend and you never want to disappoint her by breaking a promise but you're afraid that if you go to her dance you will not have as much fun or be asked to dance as much as you would at your own school. If she is really a fiend she will let you out of your promise and be gracious about it.

you didnt promise her to go to that specific dance coming up did you? if you did then you have to talk to her about it. Decide which is more important to you. I think if i were you i would do the dance at your school. People put you in charge of their dance. Im sure there will be another dance again at your friends school.
my school still hasnt had their first dance yet this year! but at least there are district dances...

Keep your original commitment. New people can be fun, and you did promise. Who knows? It might even be possible for the both of you to leave hers early and still make part of yours.
