From what I've heard, the Harid Conservatory program is excellent. Since they are an actual year-round dance school and not a ballet company, they are more focused on sound teaching. I have a feeling that the Boston Ballet runs their summer program mostly as a source of income for their company, as I knew someone else who was less than thrilled with the program.

If you're looking for other options besides Harid, I highly recommend that you check out the "Ballet Talk for Dancers" message board:
http://dancers.invisionzone.com/index.php?act=idx
They have an entire sub-forum that is devoted to Summer Intensives, with all of them (meaning all ballet-based programs) listed from A to Z covering 7 pages. You have to be a registered member of BT4D in order to access those forums, but it's as easy as Yahoo Answers in terms of setting up a user ID. The BT4D is great for "meeting" other dancers who will be going to the same program and making friends ahead of time.

Glad you turned down SAB as you only get two classes a day. Joffery and ABT are both amazing and challenging programs, even better because they have several locations throughout the states. I have attended all three in NY and Joffery and ABT were the best!
Dont worry about how the other girl is doing, focuse on yourself and you will become better. Dont get caught up in the competition!

boston? i'm not sure but I know colleges
have good programs with very good teachers like the princetone ballet here in NJ . you can check those out... I would work on my turn out...for someone who sais they are competitive turn out = more range in motion! lay on your belly on the floor as you do your homework and put your soles of feet together like a plie'.
maybe learn all you can about terminology while you look for a school that ay you are not waisting time. thats what i would do...
good luck!
