I really want to become a good dancer, but I'm getting really bored in the beginners class because of no partner and the pace of things taught being a bit slow.

There are two guys I would consider inviting to be my partner, one is my crush who is a pro and we are family friends, or, the other I met a few months back and he has since become my friend. All three of us are single. I don't want the new friend to get the wrong idea...

which of these would you choose if you were me?
1) attempt to move to higher classes? but I still won't have a partner so I could still be bored
2) ask the new friend to be my partner and risk giving him or my crush the wrong idea?
3) ask my friend/crush to give me private lessons (no guarantees he'd say yes)
4) get one-on-one tuition and pay for the expensive lessons (the teacher can double as my partner), but I find them too expensive.

Im planning to take dance lessons over summer just for fun. I really dont know what kinds there are... I want something that teaches you to move every body part. Nothing like the splits or flips, high jumps. Just so I cant move well and know how to.

Okay , this may seem like a silly question, but I really don't know , so I am going to ask.
My husband and I have been thinking about taking ballroom dancing lessons. I think it would be a lot of fun. The thing I am concerned about is our height difference. I have observed a class and all of the couples in the class were pretty well matched in height. Anytime I have seen ballroom dancing on television, the couples always seem pretty well matched in heiht. My husband is 6'4" and I am 5'2 1/2". Is this generally a problem when trying to learn or is it easily overcome. It just seems to me that this would make things a bit more difficult and awkward? Any advice??

I'm in the beginners class, but because my friend has lent me a dancing lessons video, and he himself has taught me some moves and also burnt a music compilation for me to practise with, plus there being no single males to partner up with me in the Latin dancing class, I'm getting really bored...

If I ask my friend who is a pro to come to be my partner, is that asking too much? He already teaches as an instructor for Bodyjam classes at gyms on most other nights.
Should I instead ask another friend who is single, even though I have a crush on my friend who is a pro in dancing?

As a dancer, I would really like to increase my ankle flexibility. Are there any devices which I could use. Is passive streching dangerous or should I just use therabands?

Anyway, does anyone here dance, and what kind of dancing do you do?
