I'm looking for a list from someone who is familiar with the Bible of books or sections that are of particular literary significance. I am not looking for what someone finds most uplifting or meaningful, but rather the sections that have had the most influence on western thought.

Essentially: I want to be able to understand the Bible's impact on western culture, but I don't want to read the entire thing at this point. So what is most important for me to read?

Thank you. :)

Do these books have sexual material (not just kissing, but people actually having sex) and/or graphic violence? (I know it's about vampires, so some blood is to be expected. But are there any really gross out scenes?)

Thanks & Cheers!! :)

In our English class, we just finished reading it, and for our Final, we'll be talking with the Author, John De Graaf. Our teacher asked us to come up with some questions we'd like to ask him, and I've only been able to come up with a couple. Is there a question you'd like to have answered by him?

Why does it take about six months for a book to come out in paperback? It's so annoying!

Why can't paperbacks come out at the same time as hardbacks??

I just purchased three soft cover books by Rudyard Kipling. They are "Plain Tales From the Hills" "Unde the Deodars" and "Soldiers Three". They are from 1899 and the books have a swastika printed on their covers associated with a picture of the elephant-headed Hindu god Ganesha. If anyone knows if these would be worth anything id like to know. thanks
