It has been my desire to start reading the classics and I've read a few and am now reading "Anna Karenina". I'm looking for the whole classic story build-up/breakdown/resolution, but it does not flow for me and seems just odd. Now I know that this book was written a very long time ago, but what is your take on this classic?

Here's a thought. Can we all write one novel. I know this doesn't require an answer, but lets try. I will write the first paraghraph for a novel, someone write the next, someone the one after and so on. Here goes.

It was one of those rare nights when both moons were full and blood red. The sounds of the fire trees were almost deafening. The sweet smell of rotting flesh was so thick you could almost hold it. Ah yes, what a beautiful night, the kind you dream of. No one had any idea of the terror that was about to envelope our campsite, not even the troop leader who had been nailed to the picnic bench for the night.
