Of course he is not dead! Salvatore can't kill his own characters, only other people's characters! And you know what's going to happen between Drizzt and Wulgfar's exgirl, it's obvious...though they take forever to get to it because Drizzt is busy getting into trouble and worrying about the huge lifespan difference.
In detail, that demon Drizzt pisses off in The Crystal Shard has Wulfgar...but Wulfgar comes back and has his own whine filled book called Spine of the World.
