I have recently given up watching television and I am not much of a reader and I don’t know what book to start reading. Have you read any good books recently.

I read a lot and have got dozens of ideas for books, but I've never seen anything written on how to go about actually writing a book. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get started on this?

of violence in his stateroom were heard by neighbors. His wife woke up in the corridor with no memory after being unconscious. There was blood on the balcony and on the lifeboat cover directly beneath his balcony. His body was never found. The cruise ship employees hushed up the incident and didn't reveal important evidence. Question: who did him in? Was he involved in a drug deal gone bad? Was there a jealous lover on board? Did one of the crew get fed up with his incessant unreasonable demands and throw him out the window?

If it is not can u help me find one in this poem?

There are strange and mysterious sounds
When the winds of winter blow,
The long nights are crystal clear and cold,
And the fields and meadows are covered with snow.
The stars are frosty against the sky,
And the wind's whistle is shrill,
As the snow blows against the house
And drifts against the hill.
Yet, I like to see during the winter
A white carpet on the ground,
To plod aimlessly in the deep snow,
where deer tracks abound.
I like to feel the stillness
Of a crisp winter's night,
Watching a full moon rise over the horizon,
Exposing a winter wonderland beautiful and bright.

This issue is very frustrating for me and I’ve had problems with this before. When I want to go in to do a simple search to look for “adult literature” the wording throws me into pornographic sites. When I want to look for sites that will give me movie synopsises, same disgusting results. When kids I know go into sites to do research for a school project, an occasional glitch will come through and they’re being exposed to something they shouldn’t be.

I know there are software programs out there that will enable a user to work around this situation, but what about “wording”? How can I better phrase a search so I can search for casual reading book titles without being sent to parts unknown and don’t want to know about?

I love to read and I'm looking for some interesting books. You know, a few that are hard to put down. Something i can take out at the library, teen or young adult, and not TOO long. I like some mystery/horror, or teen drama/romance sort of things. Any ideas?

So, the new title is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I'm from Romania, and people here have roughly translated that into something that sounds like "HP and the killer holy men". Which, honestly, sounds completely dumb! I've looked into a webster dictionary, and i found out that Hallow means to sanctify, to make holy, but it also means a cry, a shout of exultation, to shout something... neither of the explanations were holy persons. Also, the explanation for Deathly said, among other things, something indicating death. My question might sound stupid, but can anyone actually tell me what it means? Like explain the title to me... Could it be explained by, let's say, Harry Potter and the cries that remind us of death? or the cries that suggest death? not deadly cries (like the mandrake roots :P) but something like lily's cry that harry hears when he faints... Please help me....

It appears that the Bennets, Bingleys and Darcys... and many others... have no occupations other than searching for proper (rich) spouses. Is this really the case? Or do some of them work for a living?

But I have no money to pay someone to do it right now, so I was wondering, is there a serious published writer or retired English teacher on here who could help me to edit my novel, without trying to steal my novel? I don't have money to pay you right now, but if my novel sells, I'd pay you generously then. Someone please help!

I have been writing an important health book for patients. It will have a large audience. I have been looking at the Lulu Self-publishing website. If I pay for at particular distribution package, it looks like my book will ONLY be on online book websites. But I need to reach people who don't use the computer, as well...i.e. regular bookstores!

I am attracted to the aspect that you pay nothing, and they get their income by a percentage of your sales. But I'm unclear if self-publishing via a site like that..and even their ability to bind the book in a quality way, works! And distribution ONLY to online bookstores concerns me.

Or should I use a publisher to get adequate distribution??

If you have experience with Lulu, or self-publishing..or even experience with regular publishers, please let me know all the ins and out. This is totally new for me.
