Can you imagine how would the plays be different if Portia took Desdemona's place, and Desdemona took Portia's?
Tell me what would happen?

Portia is in the Merchant of Venice and Desdemona is in the Tragedy of Othello, both are by Shakespeare.

I'm not asking if he is a prince because he is the son of the previous King but if he shows any characteristics of a prince - or if he actually is one.

I'm going to do a pretty big school essay of August Strindberg. Just want to know if there is someone who knows something about him that's pretty unknown, or just something else good to write about, or any good sites that is worth to visit. We are going to do it as a autobiography. So I have to know his personality and thoughts good. Every little advice is grateful.

I went to the bookstore yesterday while I was at the mall and picked up about 4 different books. 3 of them are books by Chuck Palahniuk and the last one is the book '1984' by George Orwell.

I remember someone suggesting it to me once after I had finished reading George Orwell's other book 'Animal Farm'.

I haven't started reading 1984 yet since I still have half of one of the Chuck Palahniuk books to finish before I move onto the next book I choose to read out of the 4 I bought.

It does seem like a really good book and I have been told so by a handful of people, I was just wondering what you guys thought about the book if you have ever read it.

So, if you've read it: How was the overall quality of the book? Was it the kind of book that you just didn't want to put down or was it just an option when you were bored? Was the book enjoyable? Did it make you ponder things (e.g. life, government, 'big brother', etc.)?

Thanks in advance.

:)

I'm 17 which may not seem old to most people but it is to me.
I have never bothered to consider taking writing as a possible career choice until now. but i have come to the realization that my writing lacks taste and substance.
I'm constantly plagued with writer's block and can't jot anything down without thinking about it for a long period of time.

Is this normal or is it I just lack the 'know-how' that's native to good writers ?

My assignment is to write a short story, no longer than 5 pgs long.

But I'm having serious writers block..like I can't think of any ideas of what my story should be about!

Could you please give me some help as to coming up with an idea.

I'd like to write an intriguing muder mystery..but I don't know how to do it.

Maybe some situational/dramatic irony. You know.

So lend me your ideas, please.

I'd promise to switch it from yours, in case you'd used them in the past.

I only need something to get my brain a goin'.

Thanks, guys.

=)

he's only 8 but he's already read the entire Chronicles of Narnia, all the Harry Potter books, James and the Giant Peach, etc.

i want to get him some books for his birthday because he loves to read, but its really difficult to find a book that will be challenging for his reading level that is also age-appropriate. my sister is really sensitive about the age-appropriate thing, and he's also just not interested in teen dating drama. he was pretty annoyed and even disgusted when Harry took an interest in Cho Chen, let me tell you.

My story is about a man who has encountered problems in his personal and work life and in a moment of weakness turns to drugs as a way to solve his problems... and of course, the negative consequences of his choice and how they progress. The end is about whether he will finally give into or overcome this addiction. Can anyone help me come up with a catchy title that shows the reader that it has something to do with drugs or choices or something like that? Or any idea at all, even if it has nothing to do with those things but fits with the story idea?
