Can you imagine how would the plays be different if Portia took Desdemona's place, and Desdemona took Portia's?
Tell me what would happen?

Portia is in the Merchant of Venice and Desdemona is in the Tragedy of Othello, both are by Shakespeare.

For one thing I feel Portia would have gotten to the bottom of the "issue" bothering Othello. She is too much the realist to have evaded the problem and let the chips fall where they may! I'd love to see how the Bard would have re- written the character change.

As for our dear Desdemona...... Well I believe she would have lead the proceedings with her heart and someone in fact would have lost a pound of flesh in the process!!
