For an avid reader that's almost impossible to say as the answer to that changes every week. Usually it's whatever book I've just finished reading ... so right this minute, my favourite book is "Justin Thyme".

I actually bought the book for my kids, but after reading a couple of chapters to them at bedtimes, I swiped the book for myself and read it right through the night.

It's set in a Scottish castle on the banks of Loch Ness owned by the family of a teenage billionaire. There are fascinating pages about the paradoxes of time between each chapter which really get you thinking - and it's full of all manner of cryptic clues hidden in the text. Even though I finished it almost a week ago, I can't resist sneaking it out of my kids' room at night and trying to find just one more hidden clue.

Perhaps I'm going through my second childhood ... but I have to confess that I've read all the Harry Potter books, Dark Materials trilogy and even the Series of Unfortunate Events! Kids' books are getting way more sophisticated these days ... and their plots are often more engaging than many books written for adults.

I prefer fantasy. The following are my favorite books. Eragon/Eldest by Christopher Paolini. Artemis Fowl (the series) by Eoin Colfer. Javakosh by Jeanette Mirll. Also, almost anything by Gordon Korman: The War with Mr. Wizzle, The Twinkie Squad, I Want to Go Home, The Chicken Doesn't Skate, etc. Each of the books I've listed is well written, with a touch of humor. In Gordon Korman's case, the story is a comedy.

I have tons of favorite books, its difficult to choose! If I had to pick one book that stayed with me for a long time after I finished reading it, I would pick Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. The description sounds cheesy, but the book is amazing. It is about a modern English woman who was transported back into the 1800's Scotland during the time of the war. There, she and a powerful young man got married and they used his power and her knowledge of the future to their benefit. I recommend that anyone reads this book!

A wonderful book called Shantaram. Its about an Aussie guy who escaped from OZ, ended up in India and ended up as a doctor in a slum, a a passport smugler and helps his Indian friends in fighting Afghanistan. Its such a colorful book, with wonderful images of India, great for someone who has been there to remember it or great for someone who wants to go. Despite being a rough guy, you really like him and wish the story continues...
and its a true story. Makes it even better!

My favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, I like this book because it shows a girl that has her own mind in time where girls are just supposed to be subservient, and it reminds you not to make snap judgments, because people aren't always what they appear.

"A Time to Kill", because of the various twists and intrigue Grisham wove into the plot. I rarely read a book more than once, but I could pick up this one once a year.

Prairie Peace - Because I wrote it and it helped me realize a dream of becoming a published author. I've always enjoyed historical fiction and it was a great feeling of accomplishment to write one of my own.
