It's perfectly obvious that the reason there is a fifth book in the "trilogy", is that the Hitchhiker crossed a couple of inter-galactic date lines!! Sorry couldn't resist!

Yes, it's called "Mostly Harmless", a reference to Ford's description of Earth in the Guide.

I read it and found it to be mostly horrid.

But read it and judge for yourself.
