I am an aspiring author, and am wondering if a couple people could read and give me feedback about the first few chapters of my book.

You know the story. What's represented through the characters, their motivations, story plot, etc., regarding religion.

Does it represent Catholisism, Buddhism, any 'ism? What about these does it say?

I'm looking for a few hard to find out of print books. I've tried the typical ebay/amazon/borders/barns&noble and a dozen other sites. I've searched by the ISBN number too. I'm looking for Fever Heat by A. Vicker but I can't find it anywhere!

I am bored and I keep posting questions about ignorant people who don't know about Pecos Bill, but I am getting serious answers almost entirely.

Does anybody know who John Henry is?

Edge - E. Motketsan

Through chilling light I escaped all reason
only to have reached the dark creative edge
Down the sheer wall, stones of knowledge slipped
not even a whisper's breath rose from its depth

Looking back to all that's known
time had stopped and quests concluded
In majestic silence a leap of faith
to awaken the soul of fettered content.

I wrote it for Creative Writing last year and I thought it was pretty good. Of course, I am biased. :}. But I would like to know what other people think. As much as I would like to send it along to everyone with the courtisy to answer, I can only send it to a few number of people. So, if you are interested in reading the story, please leave a post and I'll get back to you. Please don't post your email address on your answer though, I would it if a few annoying people were to have access to it. If you're interested, please leave a message and I'll be happy to send the story along.

Gas O Line

The scent of intoxication in the air,
any sight of flame will turn into flare,
so don't go off and waste a prayer.

3.09 per one gallon of demise,
fallen in its path, no time for goodbyes.
Drip, drip, drip as the liquids spread,
Screams, screams, scream. People dead.
Buring alive victum to this death water,
you will know a slow and painfull slaughter.
But living is a much worse fait,
burnt beond reconizing traits.
Blazing inferno a gift of god,
to bad he was just a facade.
Human kind manipulates its powers,
kill you in its burning showers.
Arson is a game of lust,
lose and you shall combust.

But play it right and you can destroy,
just make sure you know how to deploy,
because gasoline is a fun toy.

I was just wondering what you all think, personally, I'm clueless. I was thinking if it's the longest, hope that it's really good. If it's shorter, I hope everything has closure and tied-up. What do you all think?

I am trying to help this grandmotherly old woman who, God bless, collects books. Classics for the most part. Everything from Hardy Boys to Zane Grey. She wants a computer program to organize her collection so she can tell what she has, in what condition, and what it is worth. I figure a data base should be fairly easy to set up, but I was wondering if anyone had any recomendations. I should mention that the woman in question types by looking at the keyboard for the letter, looking at the screen to make sure the letter typed was the correct one, then looking for the next, so somethng without a whole lot of typing is good.
