Do you think a novel needs to be 100 pages, 200? 300? 500?...1000? What is your preference for a fiction novel? And do you prefer a few long chapters or several short chapters?

I just did and I feel terrible. Fortunately, it's not obvious-the coffee spilt on the bottom of the books and their pages are yellow, not white-but I still feel awful. Could you please say something to make me feel better? P.S. These books were given to me while studying at university.
