Goldilocks and the Three Bears:

The three bears are about to sit down to their breakfast of porridge, but they find it too hot and go out for a bit of a walk to let the porridge cool. While they are out a little girl who is also walking about in the forest finds the bears' home and decides to have a look around. She enters the house and finds the porridge. Sitting down at Papa bear's porridge, she takes a taste only to find it "Too Hot". She next tries Mama bear's porridge and finds it "too cold". Finally she comes to Baby bear's little bowl and tasting it finds it "just right" and gobbles it all down. Moving further into the home she comes across the three bears' rocking chairs. Sitting down in Papa bear's, she finds it "too hard". Trying Mama Bear's next, she finds it "too soft". Last comes Baby Bear's little chair, which is "just right". Goldilocks starts rocking only to break the little chair beneath her weight. Tired now from her meal and wreckage, Goldilocks ventures into the bears' bedroom. She tries Papa Bear's bed which is "too hard", Mama Bear's is "too soft", but Baby Bear's is "just right". She lays down and falls fast asleep. The bears return to find their home in distress. First they see their meal has been touched. It goes "Someone's been eating my porridge," Papa Bear rumbled. "Someone's been eating my porridge," Mama bear whimpered. "Someone's been eating my porridge," Baby bear cried, "and they ate it all up." Then they move on to the rocking chairs. "Someone's been sitting in my chair," booms Papa Bear. "Someone's been sitting in my chair," whispers Mama Bear. "Someone's been sitting in my chair," Baby Bear wails, "and they broke it all apart." Moving into their bedrooms the Bears take stock of what the trespasser did here. "Someone's been sleeping in my bed," Papa Bear bellows. "Someone's been sleeping in my bed," Mama Bear simpers. "Someone's been sleeping in my bed," Baby Bear cries,"and look she's still there." At this Goldilocks wakes up and seeing the three bears flees terrified.

Once upon a time there where three bears who lived in the woods... Porridge was TOO hot, TOO cold and just right so goldilocks ate it ALL UP. Rocking Chairs, rocked too fast, too slow - rocked just right, so goldilocks rocked and rocked until she broke it. Bears - Papa Bears was TOO hard, mama bears was too soft, baby bears was just right so Goldilocks fell asleep.

You're spot on with the porridge and beds. The first two chairs are too big, and the third chair is just right.

And I agree with bastntoby there's nothing wrong with revisions. When all we could do was tell stories, they would get revised as people forgot details and added something they felt enhanced the story!

I've heard that the chairs are also too hard, too soft, and just right. It seems repetitive, though, with the beds. I imagine that wide, too skinny, and just right could be good for chairs instead.

You have the rest on target.

What's wrong with a little revision of the classics, anyhow? :)

The chairs are too hard, too soft, just right. But the little girl breaks the baby bears chair sitting in it.

The beds are also too hard too soft just right.
