the egg has been around much longer than the chicken
if you want to say
Which came first, the chicken or the 'chicken' egg, than the answer is simple, you can't have a chicken egg without a chicken. you CAN have a mutated creature come out of an egg and be a chicken and never have seen chickens before in which case, the chicken would come before the chicken egg. but not before the "EGG"

The chicken and the egg were once a single entity. Then the egg separated itself from the chicken. So in a way, they both came first!

The bible says God Created the Birds of the Air. these birds were later told to be Fruitful and Multiply (when Adam was told) so they started laying eggs latter.
Now then if you do not believe in the bible then.... That is a much harder question but most likely the opposite answer because the most likely scenario would be an egg laying creature that was not a chicken somehow laid an egg that carried a mutant creature that was a chicken. Of course semantically the "egg" in question was not a chicken egg so....
In the dictionary Chicken comes before egg....
In the french dictionary oulfe comes before poulet.
I guess we have no answer unless we believe in Jesus who is of course THE answer to all lifes questions.

The egg. Evolution has it that, when a new species is evolved the new-born baby of the new species is a child of it's ancestor. To make it easy for u, the species from which chicken evolved , must have layed it's first chicken egg from which later chicken's flourished as a species. So, scientifically sayin, It's definate that the egg came first

The egg. Everything revolves around a good egg and people are not bothred with how the chickens are fed steroids and kept in tiny compartments with certain body parts removed. Bigger the egg...forget the chicken.

It depends on your point of view of the universe. If you believe in evolution, probably the egg. Because the mutations that would produce the actual chicken would be in the embryo in the egg and not necessarily in the parent fowl species. If you believe in creationism, probably the chicken. Because the chicken would have been created as a distinct and separate species and in its uniqueness, would propogate the species in egg laying.

Chicken and an egg are lying in bed. The chicken is leaning against the headboard smoking a cigarette, with a satisfied smile on its face.
The egg, looking a bit disgusted, grabs the sheet, rolls over, and says,
"Well, I guess we finally answered THAT question!"
