I've been creating this little theory in my head and it involves Aberforth Dumbledore, Albus Dumbledore's brother. My question is, does Aberforth Dumbledore look like Albus in anyway, possibly a twin. Does it discribe what he looks like in one of the 6 books. If it does which book and what chapter? I can't remember exactly but I think I remember reading about him somewhere.

Dreams are man's own impressions
since ideas make man remain
that when i saw your beauty and you
a diamond in the earth innocuous
my thought was obscured by you
for my dreams and you becomes one

For instance, what do you think about the film "Capote"? To those who have seen the film and didn't read the book, did it make you want to read it? And to those who did read it, what did you think about the film? There are also adaptations of the classics, as Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet", "Hamlet" and "A Midnight Summer's dream". The main idea I have, as a foreigner, is that in english speaking schools, when confronted with their first Literature classes, most students relly on films and internet rather than reading. Is this true? Please comment both students and teachers, according to your experience.

Where is reading going to get you anyway? Why not just watch t.v. or do something else?

I speak Japanese, and to get books I have no choice but to order them from B&N. I was called from B&N telling me my book had arrived. I got there, and this girl tells me she didn't find it, so it hasn't there. I insisted, and she got mad, and she called the manager. I told the manager I received a call, and as I was talking to him, I saw my last name in big bold letters on my book. I told the girl that was my book. She replied, "oh yeah, I saw it, but it was in Japanese, so I didn't think i was yours". Then another time, I was happy I found some books in Japanese at the store. I was reading them, and this guy comes up to me telling he's going to take the books away, I tell him I'm reading them. He replies "It's not like you are going to buy them". I really hate the people who work there, if there anywhere else I could order books in Japanese I'd go elsewhere. It's a bookstore, shouldn't they hire smart people?

I work a pretty laid back third shift job that gives me an insane amount of time to read. I started the job last week and read through Jimmy Buffett's "Where is Joe Merchant?" and thought it was good. Right now I am reading Flags Of Our Fathers and would like to hear suggestions for what I should read next.

I'd prefer fiction (I plan to read fiction then nonfiction then fiction etc). A good mystery might interest me (I've read Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons, I liked them but don't particularly like Dan Brown).

A while ago I read the first 3 Harry Potter books and liked them, I'd consider reading through the series.

I love Stephen King. I read The Shining and it scared the piss out of me. Although, I work third shift security and walk around an empty office building so horror might not sit well with me...

I am looking for a book or a collection of short stories I remember from my childhood. It is about a family living on the most fertile farmland in the world. When they threw a kernal of corn on the ground they could watch the stalk grow and have corn on the cob a couple of hours later. The family tried to plant pumpkins, but this was a mistake. The vines grew so fast they dragged the pumpkins along the ground, threw sparks and started a fire. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Can you help me with a title or author? Thanks.
