I just finished watching "The Grey Zone", a movie about the Holocaust and reading a summary of "The Years of Extermination: Nazi Germany and the Jews 1939-1945" and can not, for the life of me, understand the cruelty behind this historical event.

if infinity and infinite possibilities truly exist and are more that just perspectives, than wouldnt that mean that you could never lead a good or bad life, b/c if there are infinite possibilites ( these possibilites i mention are more or less the different lives you could have in different dimesions etc) then there are always infinitely better and worse lives than the one you have.

so everybody is doomed to a run of the mill life which will end and they will be forgotten and all existence is meaningless....in short

thoughts?

I just started reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix, when I saw the word "Squibb". What the heck is a Squibb? I mean I've seen it before but I forgot what it is. THANK YOU!!

The follow paragraph is quoted from Martin Amis "Time's Arrow"

"......Once he approached the altar and extinguished a candle on the chest there, and pocketed a few imperceptible coins. A single glace at the crucified Christ, the worshipped corpse: a figure bent like a branch whose shape has changed in the stretching agony of fire. Above our head, an unregarded observatory of light. Then out again to open air and the waiting carabinieri, and the dumbshow of pappacieri and papieri."

I know the stroy-time in this novel is backward. I know the narrator had arrived at Italy. But I don't know what is "an unregarded observatory of light" and the three queer words: carabinieri, pappacieri and papieri.

Who can explain for me?

If you have to create movements of energy to power the mind, then can one consider the natural state of the mind to be weak?
Does the state or status of the mind determine power/weakness? Meaning is power a financial or societal status, or a mental focus a balance of thought and emotion in the mental state?

I am looking towards directing a show next spring and would also have to do all the design work as well, as it is at a small theatre. I was wondering if anyone knows of good places across the States to rent theatrical costumes? I'm stationed in Texas and seeing as I'm on a budget, would most likely only rent 5-7 outfits for my principles. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I just began teaching myself to play acoustic guitar. I can get the picking right, the single notes. I'm having a hard time playing chords.

My fingers end up accidentally touching extra strings, keeping them from ringing properly.

Does anyone have any tips to help me?
