Has it ever occurred to you that you may be dating your own xth cousin xth removed or the fact that you may be dating a person that is once the other gender when they are born?

After all, you have 4 grandparents, 8 g grandparents, 16 gg grandparents, 32 ggg grandparents, 64 gggg grandparents, and if anyone that is outside has the same gggg granddad number 4 (since you have 64 and there is no way that you can tell the difference), they are your cousin. and they might have more than 1 kid, so meaning there are much more chances that you may be dating your own xth cousin xth removed. There is no way that you can actually know which person used to be which gender also.

Can anyone recommend some good CONTEMPORARY Chinese novels? I am particularly interested in ones dealing with the Cultural Revolution. (If a movie was made of it, I already know it ... To Live, Farewell My Concubine, etc.etc.)

P.S...
I mean novels translated from the Chinese, novels written by Chinese authors. .. not novels about China written by American/English authors...

I started ballet about 4 months ago but I am more passionate about it than anything else in the world. I take three classes a week, and wish I could be good enough to be a pro. I can always try. I'm going to college and stuff, so if it doesn't work out, I have a real career to fall back on. But the thing is, I'm 17, which is pretty old. I want to start pointe, but for some reason no one seems to want to try and teach someone my age pointe. My teacher doesn't take me seriously when I say I want to try it, and blows it off with, yeah I dunno... We can probably get you a pair soon. I think I'm ready for pointe though! I can hold pretty much all the balances (arabesque passé coupé) I have good turnout, my feet legs and ankles have gotten much stronger and more flexible. I know the steps that I need to know, and am in an intermediate class already. How do I know if I'm ready, and how do I make my teacher see how much I want to try it? Everyone says I look like I've been doing it over a year

I have a really big part in this school play and I have the hardest time memorizing my lines! What is an easy way to remember them? What does it say about mankind that we are still grapling with exactly the same kinds of issues...?

People still refer to Plato, Aristotle, and such who cite political, social, and economic problems they had which we also still have.

In fact, I don't think mankind has 'solved' a single socio-economic problem (not even slavey which still exists, 2000 years later!) in the world while technology (as it is independent of human nature) continues to be man's most valuable tool.

Almost every day now I hear someone at work, on the train, on the street, or a friend of mine asks me, about the latest episode of "Lost", or "Battlestar Gallactica", or "Dancing with the Stars", or "Survivor", or "CSI", etc. Am I the only one who doesn't spend all my time watching tv? Though I've seen all the above shows at least once, I just can't bring myself to watch any of them on a regular basis. I don't see anything compelling enough or done well enough for me to want to watch week after week. Do people buy into the reality of it all?

I guess I read more than watch tv, but for some reason I feel like when I read a book about something I learn more than watching tv about something. Generally speaking books provide more detail and depth on topics, so why would I want to watch the same thems on tv when I could just read a book that will explore a topic better?

I don't know, HELP!

what is the latest ancestor that you still have? great grandma? and how old is that person? How far do you know your family like 8th cousin? I know only 2 of my 3rd cousin (same great grandparents). I have 8 great grandparents. Does that mean any of those decendants that are still alive is still called my cousin? That means I have thousands of cousins if we go back to my 100th cousins. I am really woried now, I might be dating one of my xth cousin.
