i think da vinci used them but i know there is a specific person who used them all the time. i dont need to know the EXACT person but if you could give me examples, that would be great. yeah, i need to know this because i have an art competition for V.A.S.E. tomorrow ... if you could help, it would be appreciated.

all famous artists (and non-famous artists) use them. Gesture drawings are just quick ill-detailed drawings used to show movement. They are very good practice in "getting motion right" in your drawings. For the most part they are 1 to 2 min drawings, this teaches you to focus only on movement and not detail.
