I've been drawing in Adobe Flash and when I flip the images of characters so I can have them facing the other direction they look weird. This happens when drawing with a pencil too. I think they look decent on the original but it's like a completely different drawing when it's flipped. Here is an example http://tinyurl.com/v35ve I drew the girl on the left and the right image is flipped. She looks like she's falling back on the right and her head looks misshaped and everything looks weird. Her arms and feet also look really different. What is the problem and how do I fix it? Please don't suggest things you haven't tried.

I recently went to a place where paintings were sold and pretty much the only type of art was futuristic, mixed media stuff. I was sort of disappointed because I love classic style paintings. The bold colors and light/dark contrast in baroque period art was beautiful. Are the old styles dead for good?

When it comes down to decide if production should continue, for which the likely outcome by educated public opinion on the decision to persist with an existing course of action, is amoral, unethical, and will continue with circumstances presently known to be negative, say loss of lives:
Why should a decision be made by a few chosen ‘wise’ people (corporate CEOs) or be based on ‘wise’ decisions ? These decisions are not necessarily ‘wise’, over the choice of larger pool of an educated audience ? (Apart from voting, which in itself could be arbitrary.)
Subsequent events prove that the loss of lives continue unabated should either choice be made, from a few select individuals or a pool of educated moral communities. If you knew the outcome would be unchanged, how would you choose ? Would more cooks necessarily spoil the broth ? What is the attraction or repulsion, of having a Nietzschean perspective over a Kantian one, when applied (as in practice) ? Should we let sleeping dogs lie ?

"Boeing, the world's largest aircraft manufacturer says it is working on anti-gravity propulsion, which could revolutionize conventional aviation.
If the science underpinning the program can be made into reality, it will be the biggest thing to hit the aviation industry since the Wright Brothers.
"GRASP," or Gravity Research for Advanced Space Propulsion, was only recently reported in Jane's Defence Weekly, but the U.S. military may have had the technology for years. "

with the world on the brink of climate disaster, you'd think utilising this tech would be paramount. Why are we dicking around with bio fuel nonsense and wasting time on hybrid vehicles, when we SHOULD be using this anti-gravidic tech which presumably has a near infinite power source associated with it.

I'm looking for the title of a book that I listened to on tape years ago, but I can't locate in search engines or at Amazon. The book is a complex thriller about a US-based company that's set up a base on Antarctica to research it's new Mars probe. While tracking a missing probe, two of the researchers wind up missing. From there, the plot takes us to a small town in northern Scotland where a local journalist is murdered for some investigative work that he was conducting regarding the local nuclear power plant and and Interpol investigation of a suspected art forger. The story culminates with linking the art forger's sponsor to several pieces of artwork that supplemented Picasso's Guernica. We also learn that he sponsor is the head of an international organization that disposes of various hazardous wastes using its secret base on Antarctica. They are also the same people responsible for the missing researchers. I was told that it's part of a series edited by Tom Clancy. Thanks.
