I want to start a book club but have friends who don't read as much as I do. What are some good suggestions?

Here's a few ideas for starters.

1. Organize a few ideas on what you would do in your Book Club. I.E. books you would read, things to discuss, etc.

2. Gather a group of friends. Book lovers preferably. Ask them to recommend your club to their other friends who like to read. If you don't have book loving friends, I recommend meeting new people online, maybe if you want to start an online book club. If you want to make one in your hometown, create a few flyers and post them around town. A great way to meet new people!

3. Make a website. Use a free site like www.freewebs.com that allows you to make a free website dedicated to your book club, that way you can hand out flyers that link to your site so people interested can learn more about it.

4. Organize meeting dates. Speak with your members to organize meets that are convienent for them, and once that is done...

5. Enjoy your book club.

Good Luck!

I was invited to join a bookclub by a friend, and she invited another friend, who in turn got her sister to join. Anyway,we meet once a month at someones home. That person then picks the book that has to be read for the next mtg. We are 6 women, with very different reading tastes,so its always interesting. Plus we have wine and little snackies to munch on...its a great evening for all. Good Luck...hope you can get 1 together!
