I read a book in high school, and can't remember the name of it. It's a true story about a woman who loses her leg as a child in a car accident, and it goes into detail about her life as an amputee. Some of the details are fuzzy, but I can remember that she was riding her bicycle when she was hit by a car, and as she grew older she tried several kinds of prosthetic legs, but found her wooden leg was most comfortable. It's a great book, and would like to suggest it to a young friend of mine looking for a good true story.

What is the best way to go about researching one's illegitimate ancestors? I'm not looking for links to Familysearch.org or vague replies about genealogy in general. I'm looking for specific advice on researching illegitimate ancestors.

I'm descended from Thomas Bridgwater, b.c. 1823, baptized on the 14th of January 1826 in Stoke, St. Milborough, Shropshire, England. His mother, Hannah Bridgwater (also spelled Bridgwaters), was herself christened on the 13th of August 1806 in Stoke Saint Milborough, the daughter of Edward Bridgwaters (c. 1770-1837) and Elizabeth Edwards (c. 1769-1815). She was one of at least five children: Richard (c. 1803-1833), Martha (c. 1804-1816), Hannah (b. 1806), James (c. 1808-1825) and Richard (b. 1808). Hannah had at least one other bastard son in Stoke, named William, who was christened in 1828.

Could someone please give me some clear advice on what steps I should take in order to discover the identity of the father of Thomas Bridgwater?

I was wondering if there is anyone out there who would be willing to explain to me how to make the spider-web weave dreamcatchers (not the traditional weave). It looks like it should be easy enough from the photos I've seen, but I can't figure it out.

Also, can anyone tell me the significance of using deep red thread in making dreamcatchers? What does the color mean, and what is the lore behind it??

Thank you so much for your time and energy!

Blessings and Light

I am an english major trying to start a collection of my favorite Shakespeare plays. I want to get each play individually, not in one big book. Can anyone recommend a series which is well annoted? So far the three editions that I am considering are Folger, Arden, or Oxford. If anyone has any advice or experience about which edition is best, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you :-)

there is this class I am taking and in the study guide lesson it says "some even question the truth of the Pocahontas story on the basis that he neglected to reveal that he was 28 while she was 12 or 13. What’s more, no one else besides Smith ever mentions the incident, and he later describes similar adventures with other admiring women in his writing. What is clear is that Smith was quite a swashbuckling figure of his day." Crazy or true???

Raja Rangit Singh was once ruler of Punjab(now part of Idia/Pakistan), His family made an agreement with Britishers and handed over Punjab to them and sattled in London. I heard they are no more Singh now.
I'm intrested as they have strong influencial role in never ending of Kashmir dispute.
As Kashmiries are the one become reason of their down fall.
May be they are still sponsering the matter to keep on, endlessly, (as revange) as per their agreement with Great Britishers. May be I'm wrong.
Please describe.
