It's about a Jewish family and the father is trying to marry off his oldest daughter. The yenta (match maker) ends up pairing her up with a baker that is even older than her dad. The daughter is in love with someone else, but the father doesn't want her to marry him instead of the baker because he is poor. One of the songs in the musical is, "If I was a rich man," sung by the father.

Had he been a more able ruler could the French Revolution have been avoided?
Might a constitutional monarchy have succeeded?
Or did the revolution ultimately have little to do with the competence of the monarch?

Is it still the same boat? Why or why not?

I have my own opinions on this, but I love this question as a way to see how people percieve things. Let me know what you think, and most importantly, why.

I'm 13 yrs. old and if there is anthing my friends give me credit for, I can come up with some really scary stories. I've scared a lot of people. I have some really good stories that, in my head, or when I tell them to people, make a really good book. I dictate stories to people, and some of the stories are actually in chapters and I tell them as if I were reading a book. But, when I try to write them, I can't. The words don't come out right on paper. The story is never as good. What I don't understand is that I have a really good grade in English when it comes to writing. I allways get some of the top scores on my essays. So why can't I write one of my stories on paper. Eny suggestions.
(Please don't give me a bunch of crap on my spelling, I allready know that I can't spell)

You'll often be told that the Bible is the best-selling book ever written, but is this true? I'm not here to talk about the Bible or whether it's true, I just want to know if the Bible is the best-selling book ever, and if it isn't, which book is?

First of all, this is a broad claim. By whose numbers is the Bible number 1? Is it on the New York Times bestseller list? Does Amazon keep tabs on this? Are the Gideons inflating the sales numbers? I was kidding about that last one, but this statement raises a lot of questions.

Who was the first to make this claim and why did they say it? Was it meant to be just an off-handed comment that was mixed up and taken literally, or do more copies of the Bible sell than any other book? And in what countries (if any) is this true? And when was this research done? And who carried it out?

Any help at all you have to offer is appreciated, but try to stay on topic, y'all.

RE: LONG LOST FRIEND - SARI MCRAE
Last Known Whereabouts - British Columbia, Canada.

I am looking for a friend I have lost contact with. Her name is Sari McRae. She is originally from Bangkok area of Thailand. She lived in Kamloops (Brocklehurst area) , British Columbia, Canada in the late 1980's. She was married to Randy McRae who worked for the CN Railroad. They had two children, Jason and Cindy who were born in Canada and would now be in their 20's.

Randy's parents were from Niagra Falls, Ontario. Any immediate family that Sari has on her side of the family are all in Bangkok, Thailand area.

There is a possibility she may have divorced or remarried and if so I would not know her recent last name. Her maiden name was Sari Saybong (wrong spelling of last name, pronounciation is correct). I am Donna from Kenora,ON. I miss her very much.

Email any information to: JustHer_2000@yahoo.com
