I can easily find numbers on how many people were killed, but its not as easy to find numbers on how many survived.

I need to know the total number of people who were in the camps and survived them.

Sources too, please. Thanks!

Does anyone know how I could go about finding the records of an old business in London? I have recently inherited an old family photograph album dating from around 1870 - 1900, some of the photos may be earlier. On the back of a lot of the photos is the name and address of the studio at which they where taken. Unfortunately the person who put the album together did not record who the people in the photos are so I was hoping I would be able to find the records of the studios in order to trace the them using serial / negative reference numbers used by the studios inorder to make copies if required. If any one has any suggestions they would be very much appreciated.

"Consider the fearful danger you are in; it is a great furnace of wrath, a wide and bottomless pit, full of the fire of wrath, that you are held over in the hand of that God, whose wrath is provoked and incensed as much against you, as against many of the damned in Hell. You hang by a slender thread, with the flames of divine wrath flashing about it, and ready every moment to singe it, and burn it asunder; and you have no interest in any mediator, and nothing to lay hold of to save yourself, nothing to keep off the flames of wrath, nothing of your own, nothing that you ever have done, nothing that you can do, to induce God to spare you.... The sovereign pleasure of God, for the present, stays his rough wind; otherwise it would come like a whirlwind, and you would be like the chaff of the summer threshing floor."

Contemporary continental philosophers agree that personal identity and subjectivity are not grounded in a transcendental self as a substance that defines an essential human nature.

BRIEFLY describe either Michel Foucault or Paul Ricoeur's understanding of self and subjectivity in terms of the implications that follow from their thought on how we should live our lives .
